Why this business was started

My previous business was business-to-business and very corporate, so I wanted to grow a brand that was a consumer product that I knew I could have fun with. Plus, I wanted to have the flexibility of working from home, working part-time hours to earn an income.

My goal with Abella is to make a better brand for women, that was fashionable, accessible, affordable without skimping on the quality.

I work to bring our customers elegantly designed products with premium packaging, while keeping costs affordable. I love empowering women to showcase their style with fashion, as well as connecting with influencers and ambassadors who are growing their own personal brands by referring my brand!

Abella primarily sells in to the USA, with over 80,000 pairs sold.

Over 18,000 brand ambassadors that help promote the brand by sharing images and spreading positivity.

New opportunity in training and development business has presented itself and I no longer have time to dedicate to Abella.

    How to grow this business

    A good source of revenue was generated from ads targeted at getting ambassadors to sign up, go through an automated approval and provided a discount code to join the ambassador team. Since I no longer have time to manage ads, I've turned these off.

    Hire an agency to run Facebook and Instagram ads: Targeted to Influencers to sign up (landing pages created, automation is all set-up to convert)

    Hire an agency to run Facebook, Instagram and TikTok ads: Direct to Consumer with retargeting set up.

    Set up relationships with local businesses to Wholesale sunglasses.

    Hire a VA to seed product to influencers with larger reach.

    Prepare a budget for collaborations with larger influencers.

    Skills to have

    In-depth knowledge of social media marketing, email marketing, and other e-commerce experience is necessary. Customer service & Social Media management is outsourced to a very good VA who is able to operate with minimal direction. Fulfillment is outsourced to a fulfillment center in Louisville, KY.
