Business Story

Why this business was started

I decided to start a Shopify store to run as a full time business so that I could work for myself.

The reason of selling this business

I have recently started work for an employer on a full time basis and agreed not to work on my Shopify store during working hours. This leaves me with much less time to dedicate to the website.

What's involved in running this business

Currently the store is run on a drop shipping basis. On a day-to-day basis I forward orders on to my suppliers, update my accounts spreadsheet and respond to customer queries.

I do a weekly stock check on 3 of my suppliers but the rest of them inform me of any stock changes.

Supplier invoices are paid as and when required, some of them work on 30 day terms, some 1 day and others are paid before orders are fulfilled.

I spend very little time looking at my Google Ads and this is an area that can be greatly improved upon.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

The store currently operates on a drop shipping basis. All of my current suppliers also offer better rates for taking stock so this would be one of the first things to look at.

The only marketing I currently do is a very basic Google Shopping campaign run on a Target ROAS strategy of 450%. Sales could be grown substantially by someone willing to put the time and effort in to increasing marketing.

    Skills to have

If the new owner has knowledge of Google Ads and other marketing/advertising avenues, they would be able to scale the store drastically.

I set up this store in May 2021. I now have a new full time job which doesn't allow me to spend the necessary time on the store.

    Why use Exchange?

Exchange is the largest and fastest-growing marketplace for Shopify e-commerce stores

    Verified listing data

The revenue and traffic data that you see on each listing is pulled directly from its Shopify account. This means that the data has been verified. Exchange reviews and monitors listings for thorough and accurate information.

    Secure messaging platform

You will be able to communicate with sellers via a secure messaging platform. After you log in and request information from a listing, sellers are notified and have the ability to respond. When you are ready, you can make an offer.

    Encrypted payment capture

Exchange and Escrow.com have partnered together to provide you with safe transactions that have bank encryption, making sure that payment is securely captured. Escrow.com ensures that its users pass verification checks before transactions can proceed.

Take time to inspect the business

Once you submit payment to Escrow.com and the payment has been secured, the funds are held until you confirm that all assets received are as negotiated. You can use the inspection period to ask the seller any extra questions about the business.

    Safe store transfer

When the transaction is finalized, the dedicated migration team at Exchange will begin the process of making you the new owner of the store. Buyers and sellers will be notified via an email from the Exchange team once store transfers have been completed.

    Post-purchase 24/7 Shopify support

Once you log into your Shopify account for the first time and choose a subscription plan, Shopify Support Gurus are available 24/7 to help you with the settings of the store.
