Fortunes are made from drop shipping. No inventory on hand required, products shipped directly from manufacturers, unending opportunity to sell products to pet owners.
So I wanted to set up a website with in-demand products for a common niche. Pet owners love to spoil their pets so an online pet product store was an obvious pick.
The reason of selling this business
Once we got it up and running, we ran into a bind and the money we needed to use for marketing had to go to another project. Without marketing, not likely an online business will succeed, so this one has been dormant for well over a year. It might as well go to someone who will enjoy it, grow it and make some money.
We've spent upwards of $1500 building the site out.
What's involved in running this business
The inventory catalog is set up directly with Aliexpress and it's suppliers and updated automatically. Other than that, when an order comes in, I believe you need to confirm the order. Easy to add additional products. Utilize the automated marketing system on Shopify. Market the products to targeted groups and drive traffic to generate sales. You'd be smart to create an email campaign to share ongoing specials to a growing database of pet lovers.

How to grow this business
If I was going to maximize this site, I would utilize PPC advertising, plug in a facebook pixel and retarget visitors. We also have other social media pages set up so social media marketing would be a plus, too.
Pinterest has been a viable source of traffic, so if you spent some time developing on this platform it likely would perform well for free traffic. Facebook comes in second.
Skills to have
Basic PPC advertising or facebook marketing skills will help. We also have instagram and Pinterest set up. PPC and social media marketing would be the best skills you could acquire and utilize. But it's all setup, you only have to have budget and run those.
