I started this business as I am passionate about the equestrian niche and I am an ambitious entrepreneur. I love selling online and ecommerce and this business has taught me an unbelievable amount about online marketing and leveraging an online community through social media.
The reason of selling this business
I would like to move into a new niche. After running businesses for 10 years in the equestrian niche, I am looking to make a change. I am also very ambitious and feel that I could scale to a much larger size in a large niche.
What's involved in running this business
Running the business currently takes me around 3-4 hours per day. On new collection launches and at key times of year such as when seasonal drops are landing, this can flex up to 10-12 hours a day but it really does depend how much time you'd like to spend on it. The more time spent usually generates more income. Main tasks are: Scheduling and creating social media content, purchasing products, listing new products, editing the website and keeping it up to date, email marketing, Facebook & Instagram ads and managing the financial side of the business.
Until last month I ran the business completely alone but I now have a fully remote UK based freelancer who completely takes care of customer service and helps with order processing and purchasing. All stock is based in a 3PL (3rd Party Logistics) company that is in the UK. Therefore there is no order processing, goods in, stock management etc whatsoever. The 3PL is excellent and has a UK and a US based warehouse.

Personal support after saleI will provide basic support and guidance on how I have run the business and how everything works - supplier help, how to use the 3PL etc for two weeks after the sale has completed. This support will be provided via an initial phone call and then via WhatsApp, Skype or Slack - which ever is preferable.
Product photosLots of money has been invested in free items to influencers within the niche to provide high quality photography in return. All photographs taken for the brand are included in the sale and also any stock photography and studio photography of the products. All transferred via Google Drive links
SuppliersWe have great relationships with seven suppliers at the moment with several more in the pipeline if required. They all have automated stock feeds that can be connected to the site and allow for on-demand style purchasing (everything can be listed on the site and ordered when the customer places an order). The suppliers are based in the UK, Sweden and Germany.
How to grow this business
The store currently sells 98% of its sales from the UK to the USA so expansion into other markets - the UK and Australia would prove successful. The business has a really dedicated following on Instagram and also in a private "VIP" Facebook group. Being involved in the community and marketing to them really enhances sales so leveraging the community and the email marketing list would really help with growth too.
Skills to have
People skills and being active in the community would help a lot, or at least employing a member of staff to communicate with customers and work on the community. Knowledge of social media marketing would also help to grow sales.
