Why this business was started
I was inspired by a book that I was reading in early 2013 about business and decided I wanted to go into business for myself. Photography and design is my passion and it was a great way to generate an income for myself but still have the flexibility to travel and not have the constraints of a typical "9-5" job. I created a business that I could put minimal hours per week in upkeep and drop ship a product so that I would not have to carry inventory. All I would need is my laptop, my iPhone and internet access. Since the inception, I have cultivated relationships with customers, researched to find the most economical manufacturer, built a social media presence, and designed over 600 products as well as a beautiful website. ** Please note that any stats generated by Shopify reflect only 2018 which has been my lowest year regarding income. ** I am happy to share 1099's with potential buyers to show how much income my business has generated in the past 5 years.
The reason of selling this business
I created this business when I was single and traveling the country. Since then, I have been married and just had my first baby. I have decided that I want to spend all of my time on my family but I do not want the growth of this business stunted because I cannot give it the same amount of time that I used to. It still has huge potential and I want to sell it to someone who can see that through.
What's involved in running this business
When an order comes in, it needs to be sent to the supplier and once it has shipped, the marketplace needs to be notified. I use ShipStation for that. That is all that is entailed for the most basic function of the business. I set it up so all that was needed was internet and a laptop or computer.
The great thing about this business is it can be as large or small as you want it to be. It all depends on how much time you want to put into it. I wanted to put in minimal time per day to generate income so that I could travel and find inspiration for my designs. It only takes a few hours a week to keep up with orders and posting on social media. However, it has the potential to grow much more than it already has if you're willing to put in the time.

In the past year, I have done nothing to grow my business. If I were not selling, I would start with social media engagement, Facebook advertising, Instagram advertising, Google Adwords and Etsy advertising campaigns.
Skills to have
Some graphic design skills are necessary to create new products. However, the business comes with over 500 different designs and can grow without adding any new designs.
Some graphic design skills are also required to get the artwork print ready. Any order that has been placed has the correlating artwork so many sizes are already print-ready.
