We started this family business around 2012 out of our passion for design and aesthetics for apparel and accessories, the existing working relationship we've had with a UK based manufacturer of phone cases at that time made it a natural decision for us to design iPhone cases, which we continued to do so to date.
The reason of selling this business
Life came in the way and our focus gradually changed over the years to the other businesses we own, thus lately we haven't been able to give this brand the attention it deserved.
We believe the right person/team with experience in running and promoting eCommerce stores can take over this business and unlock its true potential.
What's involved in running this business
Order fulfilment is taken care of automatically. It's not a drop-shipping business, we have a relationship with our manufacturer in the UK and have worked closely with them over the years to develop the product and ensure a seamless brand experience for the customers.
Other than order fulfilment which is automatic, the ongoing tasks are:
1- Creating new design collections
2- Creating product mock-ups and images
3- Creating lifestyle imagery for social media
- We will gladly help with the above in exchange for a small share of the revenue.
4- Re-ordering gift boxes from our supplier in China in bulk to be shipped directly to the manufacturer in the UK. Unless you want to change the packaging style, it's only a matter or re-ordering.
5- Customer support
6- Advertising & Promotion (We have not been actively doing this, almost all current and previous sales are organic SEO, social media, returning customers, word of mouth, etc.)
7- Updating the Instagram account (40K+ followers)

The business is established and is more than 7 years old. Shopify's screenshot shows the beginning of operation to be in Q4 2016 with a peak in traffic and sales, which might look like an aggressive launch with paid ads, but in fact it was the result of a migration from WooCommerce to Shopify. We started selling iPhone cases under this brand name way back in 2012 and it grew organically to its peak in late 2016 when we migrated the shopping cart to Shopify.

This is a unique opportunity to run an eCommerce business with almost no inventory cost and no operational cost for order processing and fulfilment.

You should know how to market the business and handle support requests. The manufacturer's team is also part of the support platform (i.e. support tickets that concerns the manufacturer i.e. missing tracking link can be directly assigned to the manufacturer to respond or help with clarification.
The trend is always renewing around September each year when Apple introduces their new flagship and the demand for iPhone cases increases.
We've always been very strong in creating visual assets, but lacked the ability and resources to promote this business through content and paid ads. That's why almost all sales over the years are either organic through Instagram or Google SEO, or are a result of re-targeting campaigns.
The website has been ranking on the first page of Google SERPs for a few years now for some non-branded keywords, at best days (around 2017 when we were actively working on SEO) it used to rank #1 to #3 for non-brand keywords and outranked Amazon, Etsy, and Casetify for the same keywords. It still ranks either first or second for many related keywords.
There's a list of 14K+ emails of past customers which can be used to create LLAs on Facebook or re-activated through email marketing.
Klavyio has been setup and collecting data for a few years, but we haven't been actively doing any email campaigns (that's a shame, email marketing wasn't our strongest internal skill), but the data collected can be used for segmentation in Klavyio and to start some strong email marketing activity.
Abandoned cart emails were the only flow we've been running on Klaviyo, for which we have created a really nice custom email template that matches our brand aesthetics and can be used for other campaigns as well.
The store is functional, and only needs someone passionate who's experienced in marketing to start promoting and growing it.
Our product photos are amongst the best you can find at ANY iPhone case brand even the top players in the industry. We have an internal system for creating photo realistic product images and mock-ups, you need Adobe Photoshop but the rest is simply running an action to generate product photos from every angle out of new designs.
We can support you with creating new design collections on a quarterly basis, plus we'd be happy to be involved in creating highest quality lifestyle shots of the new products.
Our co-founder, my wife, is a painter & photographer and active Instagram user (with 43K+ followers) and has been creating lifestyle photos for our products so far. We'll be happy, and would love to, continue designing and creating visual assets for the brand if we find the right person or team who's passionate about this brand as mush as we are and can take over this business and help it reach it's true potential.
This is a family business and we're really sad to let it go, but we decided it better be in the good hands of an experienced team with the resources and skills to promote and grow it properly and unlock its true potential, rather than being inactive due to our limited time, resources, and our scattered focus on our other businesses.
The quality of the product and packaging is top-notch, we've researched a lot until finally found this UK based manufacturer which is reliable, cares for quality, and has proper systems in place for QC and colour matching the artworks. They're one of the few phone case manufacturers that are able to produce consistent colors. They use 8 colour 3D sublimation process which is rare, and they actually do care about colors and print quality which is critical to selling surface decorated accessories such as phone cases.
With the purchase, you'll get right to the current, exclusive, design collection which we have been creating in-house. We're willing to provide you with exclusive design connections in the future as well in exchange for a small share in the revenue of the designs.
Our revenue to date hasn't been overly reliant on sales and promotional offers.
We have a low refund rate, and rarely had charge-backs.
How can the future owner improve the business?
Properly promote it. With some work on SEO it should be back to the first results on SERPs, with no active SEO work it's still retained it's position on 1st page most of the times.
Do proper Facebook and Instagram ads, plus re-targeting.
Start a proper email marketing program.
Improve the copy on the website and social media, we were great at creating visual content but not so good at copy writing, which limited our ability to engage the audience to the full potential.
What work have you put into the store?
We have created every piece of the design collection in-house. These designs are arguably much more elegant that what can be found on other brands.
The design collection is exclusive to us, and the artworks can't be found on AliExpress or other Chinese wholesale marketplaces so no one else can use these designs or buy the same styles from Alibaba or even license the same artworks from stock photo websites. (Except a few older artworks that had been stolen a couple of years ago and ended up on Alibaba, and then listed and sold by some other, now 7-figure, brands of iPhone accessories. You're welcome to sue them if you have the time and resources! We have documented the infringement but couldn't afford legal action against them at the time).
We've also created some 1000+ original lifestyle and product photos of our phone cases. These are top quality visual assets (not cheap looking graphics) that can be used in promotional activities.
We've managed Instagram account and grown it to 40K followers, mainly with Influencer marketing that we did late 2016 and then organically.

Facebook page is inactive, we just repost Instagram photos on Facebook
For the past 12 months, we've only spend a couple of hours a week on responding to support tickets, adding new products, and updating Instagram.
