Why this business was started

With the rise in social good businesses, I wanted to create a centralized boutique of products that give back and fair trade goods. Our goal was to help consumers find socially conscious products while expanding the reach and impact of other social businesses. Ours is the only truly charitable marketplace online. Not only does every good make a difference, but we have also donated 10% of all sales to charities.

The reason of selling this business

We've reached a point where we need to scale up our inventory to keep up with demand and traffic. And for the charitable business model to be truly sustainable, we also need to increase our marketing efforts (both paid and non-paid). I currently split my time between this business, a full-time job, and another business, and I cannot keep up with it. I know this company has the potential to be very successful, but I don't have the time to grow it.

Our sales and traffic continue to grow despite spending nearly zero time or money on advertising. A successful person running this business will spend more time on social media and marketing than I have this year. Fortunately, we have strategic mentions in related blogs, Pinterest, and good SEO that is driving traffic without current efforts.

Surprisingly, this business continues to grow. But I know I'm at a point where I need to devote more resources than I have if I want it to be successful.
