Why this business was started

I wanted to have an extra income source. I also love the idea of online business that you can do your job from wherever you are. And last but not least, I wanted to add value to the world and to my customers.

The reason of selling this business

I live in Germany, my supplier is in China, and my inventory and target market is in the US. According to the tax regulations in Germany, calculating the sales revenue in my case is very complicated, even for the tax company which is helping me find out how we should process. Also, since this tax company's service is very expensive, declaring the sales tax becomes very expensive for me. That's why I have decided to sell my business although I love it so much and have put my heart and soul into it.

What's involved in running this business

I place the bulk order on Aliexpress and my supplier ships the products to the warehouse in the US. I constantly receive orders and twice a week, I place the orders to the warehouse through Shipstation. I also create labels through Stamps. My warehouse partner prints the labels and fulfills the orders. The orders are shipped to the customers by USPS. The advertising has been on Facebook and Instagram.

    How to grow this business

    Right now I am offering "Yoga Jewelry" in my store and they are quite popular. In the next step, I would add some yoga related products like yoga mats, yoga blocks, etc. Also, this business has a good potential to add some digital products like yoga courses, meditation staff, etc. Also, some subscription plans, both in digital and physical collections, could work with this business as well.

    Skills to have

    I believe the most important and initial thing that you should have is passion and motivation. Of course, the more skills you have the better you can run the business; but I do not have any special skills and I have been able to do the job. It is good to know the social platforms to operate better. I am not technical at all and I have been able to prepare the videos and graphics for my social posts by myself using the apps like mojo and softwares like Canva.

    I founded "The Glamorous You" in 2017 but I started working on it seriously in October 2019 onward. 2020 has been the construction year; so, although the profit of this year has not been so high, the hard part of the job is done, and right now the business is well-established and is running very smoothly.
