Why this business was started

As I have mentioned, we started as Goldendoodles breeders. Playing with puppies all day long is one of the most fulfilling emotions on earth. With time, we ended up trying all sort of products for our fur babies, so we're in the best position to know what best fit a pup’s expectations. Getting interested in e-commerce and learning how to select the right product, I discovered the big underlying demand for a quality dog bed as dog owners tend to buy multiple beds during the same year and decided to start this business. The store was able to pick up momentum within a short period of time due to the following factors: 1) Original ads contents that drive significant Facebook engagement at a low cost; as dog owners, we produced videos with our puppies which set us apart from all our competitors. As a consequence, it will give you a competitive advantage in this niche on Facebook.
2) Dog products (dog beds in particular) are evergreen products that have a steady demand; this is one of the reasons why we have many returning customers.

The reason of selling this business

Regretfully we recently lost our dog and decided to stop running the business as it is heart-wrenching to deal with all the contents that remind us of the memories we shared with our beloved dog.

Other details about profit: • 2019 was the year where we didn’t take full advantage of Facebook Ads marketing due to lack of original content and our limited knowledge in marketing strategy. • End of 2019 was put on hold due to Covid-19 pandemic. • We were able to scale the business effectively with original contents at the end of 2020 (35k profit per month between November and December) • January 2021’s revenue was purely generated by returning customers with zero ad spend (see attached picture)

    How to grow this business

    We’ve gotten to a point where the store is stable and profitable. Currently, the traffic is mainly driven by Facebook Ads; you will have access to our Facebook pixel as well as the creatives (i.e. ads video contents) that will allow you to drive traffic on day one. If we were to continue growing the store, our main focus would be on up-selling products to increase the order value, as well as investing on additional marketing strategies to attract returning customers. There is still ample room to grow the business through platforms outside of Facebook (e.g. Google Adwords, Pinterest, Instagram influencers’ engagements, etc.). We also had the plan to grow a stronger social media presence on Instagram and help the business grow.
