Why this business was started

I had an innovative idea for a new jewelry brand. Communication combined with jewelry. Rings that tell a story. I felt that I created something special and together with Swarovski I had the opportunity to bring my idea to life. The start in all Cadenzza stores (a multibrand store concept) was great, but after 2 years the company decided to close all stores, so I switched to online sales. I had no idea from e-commerce and the last years I learned everything by myself. Step by step. I never was a pro in e-commerce but I tried my best over the last years and I think it was not too bad - even if I know that there are many areas that can be done better.

The reason of selling this business

As I already stated above, my business always was a one-woman-show until now and as I have a 5 months old son now, there is a constantly growing desire to have more free time and less work. I think that I built a great basic structure for a very profitable and interesting business, but I feel that now it's the time to decide whether to go the next step (with a bigger team / a more professional structure and more time investment) or to step back. And as we have a second "family business" it will be very difficult to handle everything.

      Most of the revenue is generated by L'AMOTION rings. The supplier is still the same as it was from the beginning with Swarovski. It's a very big/professional supplier, based in Shenzhen/China, with high quality standards (also producing for Swarovski), a very professional team and always is in time with delivery dates. Relationship is very good and there won't be any problem to transfer the supplier relationship.

    How to grow this business

    Until now this business was a one-woman-show. I managed all tasks alone, from creating new content/pictures/ads, Instagram postings and stories, product development, customer support, email marketing, buying, communication with fulfillment partner, etc. I think the big potential for this brand/business is a professional team / or more than one person who work on this project and who lift it up to the next level- As my time was limited, I could not work on important tasks like influencer marketing, product expansion, professional online pr/email marketing, and so on.. Time was limited and so I always felt a little bit caught in everyday business instead of focusing more on the overall strategy.

    Skills to have

    I think it would be an advantage if the new owner has experience in the fashion industry or if he/she is good at e-commerce. Jewelry businesses are still one of the most interesting e-commerce businesses as margins are very interesting and development/buying is not very complicated. For sure it's also important that the new owner has enough time to manage all tasks like ad management, customer support, social media tasks etc.

    In 2016 I developed/launched L'AMOTION together with Swarovski / Cadenzza. L'AMOTION is an innovative jewelry brand with a unique branding/product (rings). Two years Cadenzza (a subsidiary from Swarovski) had the exclusive rights for sales in their stores. In 2019 I started this e-commerce business.
