Why this business was started
Fab-U-Loop yarn was started in 2014 by my mother when she realized she couldn't find quality t-shirt yarn in the US. Most t-shirt yarn available at the time was made in small batches, from old clothing, and was not easy to get. We decided to import a small batch of roles from our home country of Portugal, where high quality t-shirt yarn (called "trapilho") can be found. We opened an Etsy store and soon found ourselves out of stock. It was then that we decided to order another, much larger shipment, which was bought out soon after as well. Thanks to a dedicated customer base full of repeat customers, what was originally a small side-gig soon turned into a full-fledged business.
The reason of selling this business
Long story short: I moved out. Fab-U-Loop was originally started while I was in college and living at home with my parents. This made things quite simple, not only because I lived with my main business partner, but because I was able to keep all the inventory in our house. This made things significantly easier when it came to doing inventory checks, answering customer questions about the product itself, etc. Now that I no longer live at home, it's unfeasible for me to continue being a part of the business. My mother has her own full-time business she works on, so we decided it would be best to sell the business to someone more equipped to handle it.
Also: the metrics will show that the store hasn't been selling much recently. This is due to me not having dedicated much time to it lately. As you can see in the provided screenshots, the business has made approximately $150,000 in lifetime revenue across Etsy and Shopify.
What's involved in running this business
We had no employees, so as far as I'm concerned it will involve all the regular tasks associated with running an e-commerce business. Mostly order fulfillment, answering customer questions, social media, etc.

How to grow this business
Social media is key. I was never big on it myself, but someone who knows how to properly market a crafts business like this online would make a real killing. We get lots of traffic from Instagram most of all, as it caters to more visually based content.
Frankly, the best move would be to expand into other product offerings. Perhaps making starter kits that come with yarn and a pattern together with a free crochet hook.
Skills to have
As our suppliers are located in Portugal, it would be helpful if the new owner spoke Portuguese. Not that there aren't English-speaking suppliers in Portugal, but obviously you would have an easier if you could. Unless you decided to work with a US based supplier.
