Why this business was started

Mainly a hobby. I have always had a website of some kind whether e-commerce, affiliate marketing or a blog. At the time of starting I was looking to make passive income but have since found a regular 9 to 5 job and don't have time to dedicate to this in addition to health concerns. The last 6 months I have only kept the "bare bones" up and going.

The reason of selling this business

Recent health setbacks have caused me not have time to dedicate to this store. Due to excessive medical bills I also have a need to liquidate and cut any unnecessary costs currently. I am no longer selling on 3rd party listing I used to obtain 50%-70% of sales from. Also after being stuck in the house during Covid times I have no desire to spend any more time online than need be and rather be offline.

What's involved in running this business

This is print on demand with no inventory. The free apps I have installed will allow customers to personalize. Sales will be high during the holidays. Please note at the release of writing this there is a bug with my current theme not allowing personalization on one of those apps. Everything is automated. Vendors fulfill and ships orders. We have U.S. and Asian suppliers. U.S. suppliers average 3-5 day turn-around. Asian suppliers offer express shipping which averages 10-14 day delivery to U.S.

Other details about profit: This reflects current sales without doing anything except passive non-paid advertising and SEO organic traffic. This was far higher using advertising and 3rd party platforms in previous years. I have added images from 2020 when things were running more normal. Profit may be less if you are using a 3rd party selling sites with higher fees or paid advertising. On average cost is set to 35 to 50% mark up depending on the vender minus your out of pocket advertising costs.

I am including my tailwind app subscription for Pinterest which is paid through April of 2021. ($119 value) You can schedule unlimited pins with this and I will share how I increased following and repins. Theme with add-ons is paid through the next 2 months at time of listing. I have already filtered through any products that would cause problems. As long as you keep those apps the photos will be there.     How to grow this business

    Continue testing and adding new designs. Introduce bundling offerings by offering a number of highly requested items to drive higher retention and increased AOV.

    Launch email & SMS marketing campaigns. Initiate paid marketing strategies on platforms such as Pinterest, Google, Instagram, Facebook etc. Continue optimizing in SEO to drive a higher percentage of organic traffic. Continue to create story/idea pins on Pinterest as well as use paid marketing. We are currently not using any paid advertising. You may also want to niche down the catalog into to various other categories or multiple stores. Will provide you with other store examples doing this.

    This store will continue to thrive on free and paid advertising on the Pinterest channel (Pinterest channel included with sale). We have 2,569 active subscribers with an average of 900k monthly views with consistent daily posting. Daily idea pins have dramatically increased following and engagement - all free traffic. You may also choose to do paid promotion pins and the catalog.

    Growth could be seen by adding third party selling platforms I used in the past to that offered a substantially higher conversion rate. For example Ebay and Etsy. I currently do not have time to dedicate to other social media posting and those accounts WILL NOT be included - only the Pinterest account. FB Business page needs a better optimized pixel anyway. Since these are tied to personal fb accounts I will not include them.

    One could also benefit by using Facebook dynamics ads. There is one product that could sell above and beyond the rest if scaled properly. I will tell you which one this is with the sale.

    Create BOGO sales by adjusting the pricing with an automated app installed. This has been very successful for other stores.

    I automate my Pins with Tailwind and will include that account which is paid for through April 2022. ($119 value)

    Domain is paid through April 2022 I believe (through Shopify).

    Theme and adds on are paid upfront for the following 2 months. ($92 value). You may choose to use a different theme and add-ons that does not include this cost. There are several older versions using other themes you could revert to.

    Skills to have

    Social media posting, Pinterest advertising, POD concept. Use of third party apps to automate posting and sales across channels (ie to ebay and etsy,) There is one app that can simplify this for you. How to create a new branding page on Facebook and Instagram Email marketing and SMS were not utilized as they should have been you could increase sales by using this. Knowledge and resources for paid advertising to scale. Set up a new support email - currently using Gsuite to connect.
