Why this business was started

I've been studying ecommerce and dropshipping for quite some time. Once I graduated business school with a degree in supply chain, I began building my first official business. With enough time and money on my hands, I created my most successful store to date.

The reason of selling this business

This store can be taken and grown effectively, but I am not capable of it right now. I have been battling some health issues that have made life quite difficult. The money from selling the store will buy me some time to recuperate and hopefully jump back on the ecommerce train and launch another awesome store.

What's involved in running this business

The bulk of the work for this store is advertising. Sales are generated primarily through Facebook and Instagram ads. This involves testing, scaling, and optimization of ads. This store has only been around for a few months, but all of the startup work has been done.

Fulfilling orders is easy with my private supplier. Simply export the list of customers from Shopify orders page and send the details to the supplier and they take care of the fulfillment.

Of course there is a bit of administrative work such as responding to emails and Facebook comments/messages. Because this is a high ticket item, there are fewer sales at a higher price point which results in minimal admin work.

Other details about profit: The listed profit numbers are skewed because I created the store in May, but did not run ads until July! Generated $19,704 revenue in under 60 days. Sourcing cost including shipping is ~$45. I sold it at $149.99 (on sale from $215; 30% discount built in). I recently bumped the price up to $199.99 because some potential customers thought it was too low! This has the potential to increase profits considerably. At the $150 price mark, the average order value was $180 thanks to cross sells and bulk discounts. My target cost per purchase was $80, but with the new price point it can be pushed to $100 while remaining very profitable. The profit margin percentage appears incorrect. Month 1 I profited $1,600 and Month 2 was on the same track. The last 2-3 weeks of August I invested a large portion of the profits into various advertising methods, but my health held me back and I had some breakeven/negative weeks. I was extremely sick and didn’t operate the store at the level it required. Hence, this is why I am selling so someone else can run with it and succeed even more.

    How to grow this business

    Month 1 (July) Revenue = $5,900 Month 2 Revenue (August)= $13,800 Within 1 month I doubled my revenue through Facebook ad scaling. And it can be scaled even more than this!

    Short term goal: scale Facebook ads further to increase revenue + profit; branch out to different country’s LLAs

    Mid term goal: Procure more user generated content for marketing purposes and A/B test site variables to increase conversion rate
