Why this business was started

We were always interested in e-commerce and diversifying our income. We discussed and thought how we could best sell our products and from our research we found out

Fact: U.S. pet store sales will grow from about 19.3 billion U.S. dollars in 2017 to approximately 21.6 billion U.S. dollars by 2021.

Fact: 65% of U.S. households own at least one cat and 54.4% at least one dog.

We saw a great opportunity as a lot of people recently got pets due to the COVID 19 pandemic and are currently in need for the products we sell. The main product on the store is an evergreen winner in an evergreen niche.

The reason of selling this business

Myself and my business partner have found a new passion project that we have both longed to do. We both work full time and have decided we can't give both stores the attention they need to make them both flourish.We simply decided we needed to put all our eggs in 1 basket as we do not have the time needed to grow this business to it's full potential.

This store has the potential to be absolutely great, and there is a good opportunity for the new owner to scale the business to the next level.

What's involved in running this business

This is a dropshipping website that sells pet products. To run this website you will need to Run/ check the following items daily: - Check on your ads, always check your business manager to see how your performance is going. Do I need to lower the budget for the day if underperforming? - Check Instagram, post a photo, comment and like peoples photos, reach out to potential collaborators you can work with. Reply to messages - Fulfil orders - Our simple system with our Fulfilment app in shopify allows you to bulk pay the active orders when you want. Saving plenty of time to complete other tasks. - Reply to Emails - Spend some time out of your day replying to few customers who are asking when their order is arriving. The tracking number is sent to the customer's email the next day after you pay. myself and my business partner could handle the email load together on the store, this is why a virtual assistant wasn't required.

    Reaching out to bigger Dog influencers for promotions. The goal for you would be to reach out and send products out to dog accounts with thousands of followers to help you advertise. In return you get free advertising and you also get the chance to repost the photos onto your very own Instagram. You can also decide to pay bigger influencers a fee for promoting your products, we would show you our formula to know the least expected ROI from the dog influencers. This formula is the same we used to drive traffic and get most of the sales on our website, it would guide you in selecting the right influencers.

    Utilizing our verified merchant account (blue tick badge) on pinterest. The ads are easy to set up and because of the trust in our verified account, this easily transformed to dollars for the business. We were lacking capial to scale the ads due to our other projects. If you have available funds to create and scale ads on this platform this would be a great channel to diversify your traffic to the website.

    SEO, run google shopping ads, Facebook Ads, Email remarketing. These are just a few options the new owner has if they want to grow the business even bigger.

    The potential buyer should have a basic understanding of the Shopify platform.

    The potential buyer who is willing to make the jump. Should understand the ins and outs of the Shopify platform. If you don't that is ok, there are thousands of Youtube videos to help with trouble shooting while also Shopify support is active 24/7 and the wait time is no longer than 5 minutes.

    The potential buyer should also understand how to run influencer campaigns, this involves understanding how to find the right influencers. Again if you don't, I would send you videos on how to contact, price and choose the correct influencers to promote the brand for profit. These videos are directly from my mentor.
