Why this business was started

I had previously sold 100's of thousands of dollars through Teespring and wanted to capture customer data for myself so we could email them and have more control over how our website looked and functioned. We went on to sell well over a million dollars in t-shirts and apparel. It's been a wonderful business and hasn't taken much resources to keep going.

The reason of selling this business

We have gone on to launch several successful brands and don't have time to be involved with selling t-shirts any longer. Most everything runs on autopilot, but if someone put a little more time into the business the revenue could go up substantially. It was my first Shopify store and it deserves a good home and someone to care about it. I'm 100% focused on our other brands and new projects that I wish to get involved with. We get a huge spike in sales every November-December as we sell a ton of ugly christmas sweaters, so for a potential buyer, this is the perfect time to acquire the business

What's involved in running this business

We secured fulfillment through a company that prints and ships our t-shirts when they first started offering that service. Because of this, we've been grandfathered in on pricing that is much lower then the rest of the market gets. The main task involved in running this store is ordering the shirts. We do this every 2 or 3 days and takes about an hour or less.

We also get customer service emails, but there are very few. We average 2 or 3 a day so it should only take 5 minutes or less.

We send a sales email out to our email list 2 or 3 times a week, but we mostly reuse a template we've created in the past and it's very simple. Shouldn't take more then 20 minutes a few times a week. You can schedule a bunch of these out in advance and not have to worry about it.

The only ads we run are a Google Smart Shopping campaign that I haven't touched this year, it's just 100% autopilot.

Other details about profit: The actual profit per month increases dramatically in November and December, which you can see from the revenue charts. Last 12 months has been an average of roughly $3,980/mo profit, but the last 6 months has been closer to $1,400 per month. Just so expectations are clear, the months of November and December are substantially higher then the rest of the year. We made roughly $13k+ from organic pinterest traffic, roughly $22k from Google organic and roughly $2600+ from Wanelo in 2019. That is $37,600 in revenue and "roughly" $18,800 profit assuming around a 50% product margin. No ad spend or effort for any of this, which is awesome and these channels continue to drive revenue free of cost. Profit from our amazon sales account for roughly 57% over the past 12 months, the rest being from the shopify store.

    How to grow this business

    The site gets a lot of free traffic and sales from Pinterest, so developing more of a presence there should increase sales. We also haven't added any new products/designs in quite awhile, so coming up with a few new designs every once in awhile around popular trends, holidays or meme's could increase traffic a lot. Selling on Ebay/Walmart/Etsy could easily increase revenue by 15-25% over time.

    I would also run facebook ads, we did this early on but as we built new brands, we stopped working on that. You can take shirts that have sold well and target people who would buy. This is the perfect time for that, being the holiday season.

    Skills to have

    Having some knowledge of shopify would help, but everything is pretty autopilot right now. Anything that needs explanation will be provided with free support after the sale.
