Why this business was started
I'm passionate about saving the planet, and happy so many products these days are slightly better for the environment. Yet most are aimed at an affluent market segment. The idea of a brand that promoted actionable, manageable changes to live a more sustainable lifestyle has a lot of growth potential. I developed the concept as a store that would also eventually constitute an online community of people encouraging each other to make one small change at a time: E.g., I began with reusable straws, and planned quarterly featured products / changes and social media connections featuring user stories.
The reason of selling this business
Simple! I had a baby and just do not have the time or energy to invest in building the brand. In the months before the birth, I just lacked the energy (and money, thanks to medical bills) to keep building the brand and adding to social media. I am very sad to let this go, as it's a concept I'm passionate about and believe in. But I can only have one "baby" at a time! I think this concept is valuable and deserves someone with the time to build it out in the way it deserves.
