The big reason is time. I am still very much committed to my daily job and craft of managing a group of people at my current company, Klevu. It is very difficult to find the time to invest in this business that I know can succeed. I know that someone out there can take it much further than I can.
What's involved in running this business
Running this business effectively and successfully will require you to market the brand, story, and products daily through multiple channels (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, email, advertising, google ads, etc.) These channels are the best source of generating traffic to the site. To fulfill any orders, you will have to package and ship each product manually. The best way to show case these products is by taking beautiful photography and posting on Instagram and running Facebook/Instagram ads. I would also contact as many wholesale retailers as possible about selling these products in their stores and online.
I have limited inventory -- around 45 pieces total left. So that said, I would focus on selling the remaining items. At the same time, I would locate and find fabric in different parts of the world that you want add to the products. The current Harris tweed fabric can be purchased directly from Scotland (I will give you multiple websites to buy from, or even Etsy sells harris tweed. However you can source other fabrics on your own and pivot the brand the style of products you would like! Once you buy fabric, you will then ship directly to the manufacture in Texas who already has molds of my belts and can easily get them made in bulk for you. They will accept small quantities and even large quantities -- which will have the best price.
Once the products have been made and shipped to you - Then you will need to take product and lifestyle photos so you can add to the site along with your marketing campaigns.
