I had some success with another Shopify store keyboardshirts dot com and was curious of how it would be to set up a fully new store in a different industry (something with more practical use and a wider target demographic). After brainstorming for a bit I settled on Grove Ceramics and hired someone to set this up for me.
The store has a carefully curated collection of items, reviews, FOMO popups to share review information, and a lot of other nice details. Don't take my word for it. Check out the site!
The reason of selling this business
Within a week of launching, I got a full-time job offer at a four person startup I was very interested in. I don't have time to fine-tune ad campaigns and get this off the ground. Once launched, it should be much easier to maintain, but growing an initial group of followers on social media, finding ads that are cost effective, etc. takes more time than I have right now.
Just bad timing unfortunately...

Seller‘s Advice
How to grow this business
I'd focus on advertising and organic traffic via Facebook.
I only ran a couple days of ad campaigns, and there were a lot of shares simply because people liked the product photography. Since these are very shareable products, it should be easy to gain some Instagram and Facebook followers and build up a brand.
Skills to have
It'd be useful to have social media marketing or advertising skills.
Otherwise, you could easily learn basic skills in this area or outsource to people on Fiverr or a similar service.

Exchange is the largest and fastest-growing marketplace for Shopify e-commerce stores
Verified listing data
The revenue and traffic data that you see on each listing is pulled directly from its Shopify account. This means that the data has been verified. Exchange reviews and monitors listings for thorough and accurate information.
Secure messaging platform
You will be able to communicate with sellers via a secure messaging platform. After you log in and request information from a listing, sellers are notified and have the ability to respond. When you are ready, you can make an offer.
Encrypted payment capture
Exchange and Escrow.com have partnered together to provide you with safe transactions that have bank encryption, making sure that payment is securely captured. Escrow.com ensures that its users pass verification checks before transactions can proceed.
Take time to inspect the business
Once you submit payment to Escrow.com and the payment has been secured, the funds are held until you confirm that all assets received are as negotiated. You can use the inspection period to ask the seller any extra questions about the business.
Safe store transfer
When the transaction is finalized, the dedicated migration team at Exchange will begin the process of making you the new owner of the store. Buyers and sellers will be notified via an email from the Exchange team once store transfers have been completed.
