Why this business was started

We came together because we wanted to build a brand around a significant cause. The "plastic free" movement is a huge market, one that supports a sustainable clean environment and plenty of customers. We decided watches would be the best route in product because of the profit margin (60-70%). We box and ship them ourselves, so virtually we collect most of the profit.

The reason of selling this business

Due to unforeseen personal circumstances we now don't have time to both manage and take the business to the next level. Therefore we are looking for someone to take up the business as it stands.

The past 18 months have focused on reinvestment to accelerate growth rather than taking profit out of the business. We had originally intended to manage and scale ourselves, investing in the future by building the brand to a strong position through a strong social media presence and a quality online and service offering.

It should be relatively easy to pick up ownership of the brand, with proactive social media management, writers, photographers and models already engaged on a freelance basis and ready to transfer to the new owner.

What's involved in running this business

Effectively out of it's 'start up' phase, the business is now 'ready-made' with all elements now in place to focus on growth.

Organize daily tasks: Social media, orders, customer service, blog writing, product and lifestyle photography, brand models as needed.

Social media management: We post regular content to our social media channels - across Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.

Order fulfilment is seamless/automated via our top quality logistics and order fulfilment through shopify (also physically package yourself). Ordering stock from established suppliers

PPC advertising management is currently handled internally but we've had quotes from ad agencies to take this on.

The quality of our watches, our bands, and affordable pricing (compared to competitors) keeps the interest in HAAV alive. This inspiration is something to build upon. We have many different photo sets and designs to choose from that help lift social proof.

    Social media strategy should center on identifying influencers and followers who love/live/support this lifestyle. There is huge potential to increase followers on Instagram and Pinterest, both of which we have largely neglected to our detriment. In addition, refreshing some of the images through simple model shoots would go a long way in helping attract new customers. Using the sales and customer data we have built over the past few years will give a future owner strong foundations for developing new products and marketing those effectively.

    Skills to have

    Not really but it depends on whether or not you're just starting vs. experience. You don't need a lot of experience, you can run this store as a starter. I would seek out videos on youtube for how to run/start a shopify store. Other than that, just go to work on instagram and facebook. Like I said before, if you want extra work, look up facebook and instagram ads on google or youtube for free. You don't need a course. Get familiar with which ads are most successful and which ones provide limited engagement. There's also facebook engagement groups for dropshippers and entrepreneurs. I encourage you to join one.
