General description

In early 2016 my good friend and I started Hatchet Co. We wanted to create a brand and online store that embodied quality. We started Hatchet as a way to sell products we want to eventually hand down to the next generation. We searched for products from New Zealand and around the world. We found great joy in finding knives, axes and packs that will be around for generations to come. We started off buying enough products for ourselves and our friends and then it has grown into the online store it is today. Hatchet Co has now become a fully fledged online store with a strong social media following in New Zealand. We have 488 instagram followers and 672 followers on Facebook. Josh James 'The Kiwi Bushman' has over 61k followers and regularly posts about our hunting axe to his audience. We have been featured in the New Zealand Design Blog and also Rucksack Magazine. We are reluctantly selling, as we both have full time jobs and don't have time to expand Hatchet Co.

Hatchet Co has been limited to the NZ market with little online marketing. The brand is established and all it needs is exposure.

What work have you put into the store?

We have built Hatchet Co from an idea. We have established the brand, created the website, built relationships with our suppliers from New Zealand and around the world and created a following. We have been selling products since November 2016 and created 12 blog entries. Our most popular blog entry was our interview with Chris Burkard.
