Why this business was started

We wanted to get into the E commerce world and try to live a lifestyle where we could run our business from anywhere and be more free than simply living the 9 to 5 life. This lifestyle was very appealing for us as we have both put in many years working in offices doing sedentary work until we finally realized we needed to make the change for ourselves and it was not just going to come to us. We bought the domain and started working on the website straight away.

The reason of selling this business

We are leaning now more towards branding a product of our own and selling it on a more niche store. We hope to use some funds from the sale to fund the new project. It is best to start of with a general store to test products and then ideally you can then move to opening a new one product branded store with a product you have found to have sold successfully. We have enjoyed the whole process from start to finish so far and we have built a store that we feel has big brand potential in the future. The name and branding are quite general meaning the store is not tied down into any one particular niche. This business is very adaptable and the scope is huge. We have 6000 customers and 7000 subscribers and lots of data to utilize. You can always change out the domain and branding of course , and just use the data and site as a platform for your own venture.

Advertising, marketing, order fulfillment and customer service.

We have inventory in a warehouse in New York on a need only basis, We do not hold inventory. We advertise online to the website and when we get an order our supplier send it form their warehouse to the customer. there is never any need to take in stock which makes it a very versatile business model , allowing you to work from literally anywhere with just a laptop.

All of the above can be both challenging and rewarding. You will know the business inside out once you get used to all elements of the process and you will develop some amazing new skills along the way that are very transferable and will stand to you greatly in your future career.
You really need to learn and master Facebook or google ads and when you do it is very rewarding. I recommend getting help from experienced marketers in this regard. We will Also be willing to help guide you to what you need to know.

I also highly recommend hiring virtual assistants to help you with customer service and order fulfillment and tracking . they will make your life much less stressful :)

Other details about profit: We only really started marketing for the store in Sept so the average monthly figures for revenue and profit are not really over a 12 months period and in reality on since Sept 2018. Since then we have had months topping out at over 50k in revenue and a profit margin of 15 to 20%. These profit numbers could have been higher had we had more early knowledge of Facebook marketing and also had we not tested so much secondary products.
