Why this business was started
I started the store as a side-line business, as I am self employed and when away from my work don't get paid. So having an online store meant I could earn no matter where I was. I wanted the store to be almost hands free, and have only dedicated 2-3 hours Mon-Fri working on the store.
The reason of selling this business
After a year of being hacked (completely resolved now) and health issues, and finally my mother passing away. I decided to look after my health, travel and slow down. Hence I decided to sell. I stopped marketing the store in March, and all revenue since is purely organic.
What's involved in running this business
At present not much, an email once a week to my list. To rebuild the store - then running FB ads, most orders are POD which requires nothing, the small amount of drop shipped items means going to Aliexpress and ordering item. The stores page is part of a csv file that is emailed daily so it takes about 5 minutes to place orders. Apart from that, to grow the store once more is mainly focussing on advertising, designs (which can be done yourself or outsourced - I have 2 designers keen to work).
We sell Print On Demand items such as Leggings, Shoes, Boots, Bags, Blankets, Wallets, Car Seat Covers, and Pillows and Drop Ship Leggings, Sunglasses and Necklaces.
The majority of our items are unique to our store, especially the POD items. Our main niche is Steampunk and we are one of the largest stores with unique and exclusive designs. With literally hundreds of items ready for sale, and about 70% never been marketed yet, so ready for expansion of sales.
We have also Cat, Horse and Sugar Skull items and these niches have only been targeted briefly as Steampunk has been pour focus initially.

How does the business make money?
Our main income has been via advertising on Facebook with our Steampunk, Cat, Horse and Sugar Skull items. We have only ever focussed on one product at a time as the business was run by me personally and I only dedicated 2 hours a day to run the store 5 days a week.
We email weekly to our customers and have set up cart abandonment emails also, to help optimise sales. Our weekly emails help generate income and since stopping Facebook Marketing they have been our source of profit along with the organic traffic we receive.
