Why this business was started

I have been working with online ventures since I can not remember anymore, and as I have already mentioned above, I found an interesting niche and a good supplier to work with, so I took the opportunity and launched my store through Shopify.

The reason of selling this business

Having spent 5 years in this business, I think now it's the time to step down and work with other passions that I do have. Through, that this is not an easy decision for me, I feel inside that this the right choice to be made at this point of my life.

What's involved in running this business

Having spent this much time in this business means that you are getting everything already in place. It means that you will start making money as soon as day one otherwise there are a couple of things that we do daily to fulfill our orders. I spent on average 1-2 per day on the shop, but of course you may put your own hours to it. As we have already stated we work with only one supplier in China, which has proven to be a very good partnership. The supplier handle for us all product images (mockups) based on my own guidelines.

For all orders of a day, i sent the supplier an email the following day containing an excel with order details and they handle everything for me and of course they ship my orders directly to the customer.

Regarding marketing, i only do Facebook ads, that's how i receive the majority of the traffic and somehow I'm satisfied with the results.

Regarding customer support, we do not receive to much emails per day, and we do also provide live help through our chat widget on our website, but pretty much i think the website it's very good so the majority of our customers do not have issues completing the checkout. As i have already stated, we are seeing very good conversion rates on our store recently (around 3%).

Also, there is a very good potential to work with newsletters, but i have not deal with this topic much. We have around 3,000 subscribers which we can send promotional offers.

    How to grow this business

    I think the store’s niche is very good (Gothic clothes, accessories, etc) and even that it sounds like a small niche, I believe it has a wide market range, with almost all our customers being from the USA and other developed countries. In fact, we have just released recently a major website redesign and everything is running perfectly, so you don’t have to do anything regarding this aspect and in fact, we are seeing some crazy conversion rates (~3% for the previous week), which suggests the store design and implementation it’s very good. So all that is left, is working with marketing and ads. In fact, even Newsletters have great potential, but I didn’t have the opportunity to work with them (we have 3,000 subscribers). Also, we have the following number for our social accounts:

    • Facebook fan page (~30k followers)
    • Instagram fan page (~3.5k followers)
    • Facebook group (~4k members)
