General description

I have approximately 1700 pairs of baby shoes which I am selling at cost plus a pound as a whole unit. The cost at time of purchase in 2016 was £3.74 a pair after paying shipping and import taxes etc from China.

Shopify valued the business at $6700 USD. This was without stock so for quick sale I am selling it for $2250 plus stock costs which is totalling $10500

Sizes are 0-6 months, 6-12 Months, 12-18 Months. 18-24 months. Styles mixed evenly between boy and girl. All 100% leather.

The shoe business is not for us as we are more into Fabric and will be moving into this. We are going for bricks and mortar so we cannot do anything with these shoes. I don't have the time to keep promoting them

Why should someone buy this store?

The cost to buy from China would be more than this at the current exchange rate by quite a way. I brought the shoes at $1.44 to the pound which is now $1.27.

The shoes are exactly the same as dotty fish, bobux, robeez and are made in same factory. If you are good at taking background photos and have time to put into promoting them then buy these and get them in a few days.

How can the future owner improve the business?

Photography and promotion. Adding extra product lines such as bibs, leggings etc.

    How to grow this business

    I would develop social media. I have two facebooks and one is stuck due to some kind of idiotic facebook hiccup meaning it is active but I can't get into it. It has 400 likes. The other facebook account was started as a result of this and is quite new. Both accounts have been connected to Shopify. Our instagram is incredible and an area we are proud of.

    Skills to have

    Ability to operate google Adwords, facebook ads and to do good product pics. Areas I am not good at hence sale.

    This is an inventory sale along with the right to use HippoFeet as a name. The sale at cost is due to the need to build the business yourself as I have not been able to put enough hours into it to figure out the right way to do facebook ads, google ads etc. The products are great. I will close down the HippoFeet LTD company upon sale and my business will then be moved to fabric, I will no longer use the HippoFeet name.
