General description

Derived from the word "hobo" which means "commuter", "backpacker" or "a person who loves to travel" , and "spot" which simply denotes "a location" or "a place", as an outdoor enthusiast on my earlier years I created Hobospot a year and a half ago to share my interests to like-minded people while having a fair profit from it. During the first months it is initially focused on selling quality afforable sleeping bags, and then I eventually decided to expand it into more cool and unique outdoor products.

I used to dedicate 2-4 hours a day for this business, and the remaining of my day for my online freelancing job. As much as I want to keep my first beloved business and believing on its future success, responsibilities came in being a dad and I am not able to focus on it anymore. It took me a couple of weeks to think about the tough decision, and I finally made up my mind to just focus on my freelancing job instead.

Hobospot's business model is dropshipping through AliExpress, processed by the Oberlo app.

Aside from all the existing apps, I will transfer ownership on everything including the domain, blogs, product images, paid stock images (used in the blogs, website home page and Facebook ads) and accounts like the Facebook page, Pixel, and Google Analytics.

Q & A

Why should someone buy this store?

Short, catchy and strong domain and business name - Hobospot.

Personally well-thought logo with hidden meaning (embedded HS initials of the words "hobo" and "spot").

Everything is already done. Just need to add more interesting products and enhance the marketing strategy which I have no time to pursue anymore.

How can the future owner improve the business?

I already started Facebook ad campaigns for interesting and useful outdoor gear and gadgets that captured many Facebook users and made them follow the Hobospot page, it just need to be run constantly for the Pixel to learn and laser-target converting customers.

The website just needs more outdoor products that are uniquely cool, yet interesting and is very useful for the target customers.

What work have you put into the store?

I personally worked on setting up everything, starting with developing the name and logo design, buying the domain/website, migrating it to Shopify, customizing the features and appearance of the theme through coding (some done personally, others by experts), installing and configuring the apps, creating my Facebook page and configuring the shop, installation and linking of Facebook Pixel, creating and running the Facebook ads, and carefully selecting and syncing the products from AliExpress through the Oberlo app. I only hired and paid experts to create the logo (my own idea), blogs and the compelling product descriptions.

How many hours does it take to run this business per week?

15 hours
