We decided to start this business because we wanted to wear clothing that embraced our roots unapologetically. Until our brand, we haven't seen another clothing brand that came close to representing the carribean-latin culture like we had imagined. We got our name from where we were raised, Hollywood, FL . The name "Hollywood" itself is universal for making movies, so symbolically we are pointing the camera at our unapologetic roots. We ultimately knew that with the right working power this brand can become a juggernaut in the latin fashion community.
We decided to sell our business because we don't have the finances currently to execute our vision. We have photoshoot & commercial ideas that we can not fulfill due to our current budget. Up until this point we are the shepherds of this powerful idea, but is waiting for someone to take this brand to the next level. We don't want to just close it down because we have already established ourselves amongst our afro-latinx community. We have a catalog of projects we collaborated with latinx artists, musicians & models that we don't want to take for granted.
Alpo Mericani is the main graphic designer & social media handler. We have Anny, who is the head financial manager & accountant. Jessie is our stylist to comes up with most of our powerful latin quotes & iconic designs.
