I started this business with my girlfriend since she likes creating baby related designs. She was mostly responsible for creating the designs, and I created the shop and managed all fulfillment related stuff.

Furthermore, the target groups are families and future mothers. In the DACH region alone, 1 million babies are born every year. In the US, more than 3.5 million babies born each year. The market is huge and since these are personalized products, there is no right to return them.

It was a side project and since I'm working in a different industry, I don't have time for this business anymore.

Running the shop means you need to communicate with customers. Currently, there is a live chat plugin integrated and the support via email is available. Also, the latest designs were created all in-house. But you can also outsource this on freelancer platforms like Fiverr. The shop was optimized for SEO and is ranking with few keywords on the first page on Google. The future owner of the shop would need to think about different marketing channels, if they want to increase the revenue.

The products are shipped directly from the producer. The design is uploaded to their platform and the supplier takes care of the rest. For the customer, it looks like the order comes from our online store. The online store can be operated from anywhere where there is an internet connection.

If you can identify with the industry and have the right ideas, you can make significantly more sales. Below you will find some options for optimization: Expand to different countries (Currently the shop is just in German available), create and add more products, start paid ads like Facebook, Google or Pinterest Ads & email campaigns, grow social media, sell the products on other platforms (Amazon, Ebay, ...).

The store has a total of 197 products that were made by us internally or by a designer. There is a Photoshop or Affinity Designer file of each product. The new owner get all the rights of use.

No special skills are required. If you want to add the personalization yourself, you need basic knowledge in Photoshop and Affinity Designer. I can show you, how to use these tools. Otherwise, you can hire someone from Fiverr or a different freelancer platform.
