Why this business was started

The store was started as a side project to my main career to generate passive income. I decided to turn my passion for dogs into a dog-themed store. This endeavor quickly grew into something way beyond expectations in well under a year of being open. The store has been self built using the Shopify Supply theme - with all the creative and advertising and order processing done in-house. It has over 2,200 product variants already loaded onto it, primed and ready. The store works with a number of manufacturers on drop shipping basis - so there is no risk with stock. Products have been sourced through Aliexpress, the largest dropshipper on the planet. We sell good value items and cross sell products for both pet and their owner. This helps create a marketing funnel that can allow more revenue to be generated from a single customer. The strong logo was custom developed for us, and the store has blossomed into not only dog products but also dog-themed jewelry and accessories for dog lovers and owners. Facebook page has 288 Followers in just a few months and growing rapidly. Lots of growth potential for this store and is already in the top 10% of stores opened at the same time in terms of traffic. This store is currently selling through automated dropshipping through Aliexpress and with ZeroUp as an auto-fulfiller, making it super easy! It can be run without Zeroup, or using another autofulfill service, ie. Oberlo as well. I have taken care of everything from graphic design to digital marketing to get this store off the ground. We have an email list of over 650 subscribers that have not even been touched as far as email marketing. Our Facebook page has almost 300 followers, who are dedicated dog lovers. We are using social media primarily to generate sales. The business model used has been drop shipping from mainly China to customers all over the world (majority US thus far). With this model the supplier ships the product directly to the customer so no inventory is required. Shipping and delivery lead times are slightly longer with this business method, but excellent customer service ensures this is not an issue with the customer. Facebook image and video adverts have been the primary source of generating revenue. The key to the stores' success has been not only creating a fast site with a concise product page, but also utilizing creative and compelling advertising campaigns which have drawn the customer to our site.

How to grow this business

Affiliate marketers. Run campaigns through Google Ad-words and Google Marketplace -Utilize Instagram influencers for pushing future products. -Put a strong story behind the brand on the website and add a social blog to build a loyal fan base. -Implement a cross-sell or up-sell feature on the store to increase average order value. -Run multiple email targeting campaigns on the untouched email list. Also , I would add a strategy where I would set up a pledge to donate a percentage of proceeds of sales to Rescue/Adopt programs, as these type of products have garnered a lot of interest. This would build a very loyal following.
