Why this business was started

This business is a men's accessory dropship business with a focus on affordable luxury men's watches. I started this business because I was looking for a business concept that required little investment and little work as I have a normal day job, to make some extra money on the side. I chose this particular product for a number of reasons: First of all it is easy to ship (small and light) so I can offer free shipping without eating into my profits. Second there is a large variety of suppliers available, many with good reviews and a lot of them that offer Epacket which is very important when it comes to dropshipping. Third the watch market is a very big and lucrative market and still growing. Fourth and most importantly the perceived value of these watches is very high making it an ideal product to potentially make a tidy profit per sold unit. I have priced the watches at a level that allows me to make an approximate profit of US $30 per watch. At this price point, the watches are still very cheap for any potential watch lover while at the same time giving the shop owner a good return on Facebook ads.

The reason of selling this business

I have decided to sell this business as I find running the store is hard to combine with my work commitments. When I come home after a days work I just can't be bothered going behind the laptop and working on the store (it is important to always keep improving) and setting up ads as this usually requires several hours a day. I simply don't have the time or energy to do it and nor do the wife and kids want me doing it. Furthermore I am not very good at Facebook ads. In order to be successful you need to be creative with ads and write good ad copy to stand out. You also need to understand how to target the right audience on Facebook and how Facebook business manager works. I am just not good with that, I lack creativity and the insight and overview of all the information Facebook offers. If you however love to dig into this then this is for you. Any dropshipper will tell you that Facebook is (at least in the short term) vitally important to generate business until you have built up momentum on Google. You just got to be creative.

What's involved in running this business

To run this business you have to dedicate every day at least 3 to 4 hours to keep your store up to date (update prices, improve product descriptions, add products, mail customers, fulfill orders etc.), run Facebook ads and analyze the results of them, post on social media and most of all scour the internet for information (there is heaps of free info out there) in order to keep learning about and improving your store and marketing tactics.
