Why this business was started

The reason I decided to start this business is, like everybody else, to generate additional income. I found it hard to believe in the beginning that some people will rather decide to buy from you instead from huge markets like Amazon for example, for such an expensive price. So I had to try it myself, as a friend of mine proved to me when he showed me his income from selling pet accessories. I started my research to find the niche that will suite me the most and I found clothing will be the perfect candidate to start with for several reasons: A. Beginner-friendly: It doesn't require a huge budget to start B. The market can never be saturated: As almost 78% of Shopify stores are generating income from selling clothes, the only difference that distinguish one t-shirt from another is the brand or a specific design. C. Less return: Technically you will get less return as if you are selling electronics for example, a t-shirt travels from China to US, straight to your place, you will be only limited in returns if the product was wrong color or size. D. Drop-shipping business plan: As you don't need to own an inventory where you can store your product, and you don't need a budget to buy your merchandise, this business plan remains the safest way to start a small store with low risk.

Then I wanted to dive a bit deeper and make my niche more specific to meet only a specific category of people, so I went with sport, since I love doing sports and back then in 2017 while doing my research I found that the top high visited store in Shopify was a sport clothing store it called GymShark, and that what encourage me the most to choose this niche and believe in it.

As where I live, buying online is not yet a cultural thing and most people will avoid buying from websites that they don't trust, I had to move my interset to US where most of my sales are coming from and also since my products are coming from China the shipping time is a bit quicker.

Overall, I sharped my knowledge for years and years of falling and standing, to arrive at this point, the path wasn't easy, and it won't be easy as well for you, you are going to have to fight for it.

The reason of selling this business

The store doesn't generate enough funds, my niche is a bit saturated, and the competition is a bit high I started this business since 2018 and made a huge lost on this store for good reasons: 1. I didn't build a strong strategy 2. I didn't spend enough money on ads 3. I was following the crowds!

These reasons were enough to bring me down and lost my self-confidence that one day I'll be successful at this business, maybe it wasn't meant for me in the first place

I remember I got my first sale after 1 year and 4 months of hard work, it wasn't that much, but I was super happy, I needed a proof that this business is really working, that the videos I watched online wasn't just a fiction And sure after that I started making sales

    If you are not willing to commit and take this job seriously, there is no need to spend your money and hope to make good profit in short time. Be creative. Make your own fingerprint, don't do follow the crowd. Don't be cheap, spend money on ads. And even though you get nothing from doing all this, NEVER give up, it will bring you profit some day.
