General description

Note: Store has not had active upkeep or marketing efforts since May. So please only take notice of the graph information up until then. Thanks :)

Intritium is a very attractive store that offers customers rare and unique products that appeal to people of all ages. The products are very niche; the main focus is on 'tritium' which is a radioactive isotope that, when inside a phosphor-coated container (such as a glass vial) can glow for up to 25 years.

The tritium vials are featured in titanium rings, watches, keychains, toys, etc.

I created this store because I like the products and noticed a lack of attractive, high quality and reliable stores selling them.

I created this store during summer break from University.
The reason I am selling this store is because I no longer have the time or money available to get it to succeed in the way that I know it can.

Intritium is currently a dropshipping store although the margins could be more than doubled if the store owner decided to hold the inventory themselves. This does not mean large investments upfront; even "bulk" buying just 10 units of one item from Alibaba reduces costs of that item by 50% or more.

Financials and traffic

Profit would be more than doubled if the store owner converted from dropshipping to bulk-buying the products (by "bulk" I mean 10 or more of each item from Alibaba or elsewhere) as the margins would increase from 30% to 60%-80% plus.

Profit would also be greatly increased with more targeted marketing and a slightly higher advertising budget. This would obviously result in higher traffic and more conversions.

I only had low-budget advertising going from late-February until late-May. The store was launched in February.

Business Expenses

The domain is paid for until 20th February 2020.

The advertising costs are obviously dependent on budget. Spending about $35USD/month on just a somewhat poorly targeted Google Adwords alone resulted in about 600-900 users/month. I only had low-budget advertising going from late-February until late-May. The store was launched in February.

Q & A

Why should someone buy this store?

With the right guidance, dedication and marketing, Intritium will increase in popularity very easily.
Intritium has the potential to not only be just a store - but to be a brand; a brand that would be easily recognisable, attractive, unique and trustworthy.

This store could become a fine source of passive income or even somebodies main source of income with some good marketing.

How can the future owner improve the business?

Intritium is a dropshipping store that could easily have its margins more than doubled by moving away from dropshipping and moving onto bulk-buying and holding inventory. This does not mean large investments upfront; even "bulk" buying just 10 units of one item from Alibaba reduces costs of that item by 50% or more.

I did a very poor and lazy job with the advertising, opting to use Google Adwords Express and Shopify Kit (which doesn't do a great job with new stores that don't have previous customer data to build a target market). I did not put much work into finding the right target.

Somebody with advertising/marketing skills and also social media skills could easily boost the traffic of the store with minimal costs.

Professional photos of each product could also help to improve conversion rates.

What work have you put into the store?

I spent a lot of time on small details of the store in regards to the visuals and also some functionality. I ensured that the store functions as expected on both desktop and mobile.

All of the apps that I have installed on the store are free and do not require any monthly fees. These could easily be replaced with some higher quality apps if preferred.

I used the online application "Dropified" to automate orders for dropshipping.

How many hours does it take to run this business per week?

3 hours
