I decided to start this store because I see a lot of potential in starting a Shopify store. My partner and I decided to choose yoga pants, shapewear and exercise equipment as our niche because we saw, and still see, a lot of potential in the market. That was the end of May, so we have been running it for a little over 2 months.
We have put a lot of work into the store, carefully choosing and adding products, writing descriptions, making ads, getting good product pictures and attempting to use social media.
Actively doing things on social media is key to a successful Shopify store, and my partner and I aren't interested enough in the niche to want to do that every day, that's why we are selling.
The store itself is a drop shipping store, meaning we don't physically have the inventory, the store acts as a middle man, we find products on a site like AliExpress, then we import the products, raise the price on our store, sell the products on our store, pay for the items and have them sent directly to the buyer. The cost of the item on AliExpress subtracted from what our buyer paid is the profit.
We have gotten over $50 in profit over these months, but again, that amount could be improved greatly if more attention went into social media.
In buying, you get the domain name along with the logo, and a good amount of products with images and great descriptions.
