Why this business was started
My partner and I are huge streetwear fashion enthusiasts! We wanted to start a clothing brand but did not have the capital to manufacture or store clothing. So we found unique store owners/suppliers in Asia with their own products, got in touch and found a way to start selling their clothing. This started off as a hobby, but it quickly grew at a fast pace.
The reason of selling this business
Everyone only has so much time in their day. Both my partner and I had different businesses before creating this one and in 2019 those grew to the point where it has become too overwhelming and we want to focus our time on our other businesses. Additionally, I am a part-time student and with all these things on my plate, I did not have much time for my friends and family. We both thought we could do it, but after 2018 our workload just got heavier and we stopped putting so much effort into this store. As you can see from the analytics the performance declined. But this store without a doubt still has a lot of potential.
What's involved in running this business
You only have one major role and that is branding. What will generate sales is building the company's branding to reach more people. This includes:
- Posting on Instagram and creating content (You can use software to cue posts so you only need to do this once every 2 weeks)
- Finding influencers and negotiating deals to promote the brand
- Running and planning sales/giveaways to increase sales + awareness (I will teach you tips and tricks on this)
- Choosing which products to upload when new releases come out and regulating out of stock products. (I will give you tips to find alternative suppliers for similar products)
- Optional: Running PPC advertisement
You can choose to do email/customer support yourself or outsource it. I did it myself because it only took 15-30 min a day. All fulfillment and ordering products through the suppliers is done by a fulfillment center we work with and the clothing suppliers.
The suppliers of the clothing have been in business for 8 years and know their way around the manufacturing of clothing as well as keeping up with clothing trends. We started this business of helping them sell because we realized there is a market gap for this style of clothing in other parts of the world. We started this business in 2018 and built it, 0 followers, to what it is today. We did all the heavy lifting of getting our brand off the ground so you don’t have to. The business can pretty much be run on autopilot. When you purchase this business it will include all of its assets (Instagram, Facebook, Email list ect) and you will receive my assistance on how to run this business. The best part of this business is it has branded supplies with clothing, but you do not need to hold inventory. The products are also not available on aliexpress and are China-exclusive suppliers. For customer acquisition, we spent most of our budget on Instagram influencers, and occasionally we would run PPC advertisements for sales. (But this is not mandatory as we have done well without them). We are sad to see our business go, but we don’t have much choice because we simply don’t have time with all the things both me and my partner have on our plate.

This is a store that is truly unique from the other stores out there. You have access to tons of clothing (20+ new unique pieces/month on average) that no one outside of China has access to. This means there are very few competitors in this style of clothing especially. The store is already an established brand so it is guaranteed to have customers. For anyone who buys the store, it will be easy to pick up where we left off and you will have my help run it.
How can the future owner improve the business?
Though the store will run well even without any added work, like any business there is still room for growth. If you plan to run this as one person something you can do is outsource a bit more for things like customer support and social media content posting and the store will just become self-sufficient passive income. The next tip I would give is expanding to more sectors of streetwear. As you can tell we have been pretty selective with the influencers we target and most of them are from Europe. There are still tons of other countries with untapped markets for expansion. The last one is you can gain some Facebook ads knowledge and constantly run ads throughout the year, but this one will need more learning and can cost more.

SuppliersMy supplier and I are excellent friends who I have a trusting bond with. We not only communicate about business, but talk about each other about our personal lives. I will give you all of his contact information along with his associates. You will be using WeChat to speak with him (don't worry everyone in their company speaks English). They help us fulfill all order and have a fluent understanding of Shopify. For payment methods, there are many, you can use transferwise, western union, xoom, direct bank transfers and more. Just no PayPal.
How to grow this business
The streetwear market is booming and will continue to grow in the next decade. We have mainly introduced our clothing line to European and North American countries, and there is still tons of room for growth in these regions because the market is massive. We are also still small in the Korean & Japanese markets, but through our current customers, we can see that Asia's market has tons of potential.
Skills to have
All the processes are very straightforward. There are things to learn, but they are not difficult and anyone can do it. The only thing is having a keen sense for fashion, but this will develop over time. (Facebook ads are not mandatory, but can help during sales)
