Why this business was started

I had just graduated from fashion college and the bikini industry really caught my attention. I saw an opportunity to do something new and I just went for my dream!

The reason of selling this business

I am looking to move on into the high fashion world. As I have gotten older, I don't have the desire to design for a customer I don't feel I connect with anymore. What we started was so successful, and I am ready to try and do it again with a new clientele.

What's involved in running this business

Customer service is handled via email. We have an email contact specifically for general info, order tracking and fit sizing. Our designer manages the email about fit and sizing, our shipping representative manages the email about orders and general info. When an order comes in from Shopify, we simply print out our label, pack the item and ship it via USPS. We do not add a return label as we kindly ask our customers to pay for return shipping to the address provided on the package. As far as marketing our product, we mostly use Instagram and Facebook ads. We feel it is important to update the content on your website as it keeps your customer engaged. I believe that your designer can handle all customer service and shipping, and if not, you can have one person designing and one person handling shipping and order questions, this is what I did and found it worked well for me. We always hired out for help on Facebook ads, however I believe this is something that can be done by yourself with a little bit of research.

Other details about profit: We have been working on shutting our business down since 2019. But in 2018 and prior, we would do 20k-65k in sales per month during our summer months. In"off season" 10k would be normal. October was always the slowest month so it was a great time to do sales and get rid of your inventory at the end of the year!

      I have contacts inside and outside the USA for samples, production, and fabric. I also know suppliers that have swimwear ready to make, so you don't need to spend any time or money on making your sample. All you have to do is order from their catalog and pick your fabric, they do the rest for you!

    How to grow this business

    I will not be selling the branding or logo in this transaction, I recommend getting your logo made via "Fiver". It is a cost effective option to get custom artwork done for your brand. I would like to offer email assistance for 3 months after sale to help you start your new brand. I have had a lot of success with celebrities wearing my product (such as Kim Kardashian), as well as coordinating runways shows at fashion week. This sale also does not include the domain name. My hopes are the future buyer will be starting their new brand with a new name and I will be here to assist them on the steps to make that happen as well as providing them with all my email contacts and industry contacts. Product will also not be provided in this sale, which means photos will be of no use to you either. However, I am happy to help you with model agencies/photographers. The social media is also not included in this email, however I can gladly assist you on how to get your product on top social media influencers. I am also willing to help you with all my buyer contacts if you are looking to sell your product to stores. We have major contacts and I am happy to chat more about this privately.

    Skills to have

    No need to have industry experience! I will help you with the ins and outs of how to have a successful bikini brand. Our customer ranges from high school-early college graduate. This is one of the highest consumers in the USA, which is why we have had so much success. I would say, keep creating product for that customer. They love small, girly bikinis. These girls have a lot life, and they want that to be represented in their bikinis. I am happy to help show you some of our best sellers!
