Why did I start Kiddy Universe? Because as far as niche markets go, baby goods is a perennial product almost immune from the whims of a fad and the impact of technology. Fashion businesses have a challenge keeping relevant with the random movement of the crowd. Businesses in the DVD production/distribution chain have dwindled with the public adoption of streaming technology.
Put simply, as long as there are adults there will always be babies. Every day there are new customers entering the market from all over the world. Babies need things. That's why I started Kiddy Universe, a store built to appeal to mothers of newborns by offering a great customer experience.
The reason of selling this business
If I could clone myself I wouldn't need to write this page. Currently, my time is dedicated to another opportunity that I've developed. So I'm looking for someone motivated to enter the baby product market or add a baby business to their current portfolio. Kiddy Universe needs a dedicated owner. I could hire someone to run it but that would require a time commitment from me that I cannot currently make.
What's involved in running this business
You'll need to manage a Facebook account of 21,000 active users. You will also be planning and executing Facebook ad strategies, and developing and managing campaigns on social media, and staying active with email marketing.
You'll start with an amazing VA who is doing a stellar job at fulfillment. The store itself is running on auto-pilot. You'll need to communicate with the VA from time to time but the main part of your job is marketing. Getting and keeping in front of customers, of which there are tens of thousands.

How to grow this business
My five-year plan for Kiddy Universe includes continuous optimization of Facebook and Instagram data, growing the email list, hiring an SEO consultant to help with ranking on outdoor keywords, and expanding into Google Shopping.
Instagram is the social media provider I would next concentrate on growing. I highly recommend a focused, one-at-a-time, approach to social media. Pay attention, and give time and resources to one account at a time. In Instagram, I would focus on building relationships with baby market influencers.
White-labeled products are also on the agenda. Extending the brand into products opens up new opportunities for sales through other venues. We already have many products in our inventory that can be custom labeled.
Skills to have
While I will commit to 14 days of in-depth teaching and training, experience in the ecommerce universe would be helpful. The key to any retail business is customer relations. Customers aren't in your physical store so building strong online relationships is a challenge. The buyer of Kiddy Universe would benefit from ecommerce experience in the unique skills necessary for keeping ecommerce customers happy. Knowledge of Facebook ad strategy is also helpful.
