Kitty is an online boutique offering fashion forward street style for the badass, renaissance women of yesterday and today. We created a lifestyle brand celebrating the multi-faceted lives of women across the country. Our original retail brick and mortar location was in a top trending neighborhood in Nashville TN and our online store reflects the cool, fashion forward look of the brick and mortar. We spend a large amount of effort to build our online presence and drive sales via our Instagram content and build an organic following of 9500+ engaged followers. The brand began from inspiration from the story of Kitty Wells, the first solo female to have a #1 on the country music charts in the 1950's. The brand became about celebrating the artistic, political, and cultural accomplishments of women of yesterday and today. The brand has great expansion opportunity and is very much on trend with the women's movement happening today. Our demographic is women 17-45 and our the majority of our sales come from the overall southeast, with majority of sales coming from California, Nashville, and Atlanta. Our brand is a breath of fresh air in an over saturated typical fast fashion boutique with basic styled looks. Kitty's style is elevated and more fashion forward while staying rooted.
Financials and traffic
Our margins were smaller because of the cost of brick and mortar overhead. If I could go back and re launch the brand I would've simply built the brand online and not spent the $ to establish a brick and mortar space. Our online presence has been incredible and our customers are usually repeat customers that are very engaged in the brand and are buying because of styled visuals and the overall idea behind the brand.

The expenses of running the online store are very minimal comparing to the brick and mortar. This is a huge opportunity to gain a build in customer base and a built in social media following that is engaged, along with great visuals and VERY original and clear branding and messaging. I have received an immense response to the branding and, again, the messaging is very aligned for what is going on in the womens movement.
This is a huge opportunity to leverage your online business and drive major sales with our following and the women centered brand we have created. The messaging is clear, and more on trend then ever before with the women's movement.
How can the future owner improve the business?
We spent a great deal of effort supporting the brick and mortar and therefore had to split efforts and resources between the online and brick and mortar. This is a huge opportunity for someone to take the built in online customer and with aligned online marketing drive online sales.
What work have you put into the store?
We have created a site that is easy to navigate and with a good brand presence within the Southeast and western US states. Our look is clean and cool and is all about celebrating women and their amazing artistic and cultural accomplishments. We created original photography and branding that sticks out among many other fast fashion online boutiques. We were inspired by the story of Kitty Wells, who was the first female to have a #1 on the country charts back in the early 50's. The story is one of female empowerment and we developed a look and vibe that reflects this story but also includes all of the badass, renaissance women of yesterday and today. As the owner, I put in countless hours of styling, photography, merchandising, and using social media as platforms to drive sales.
