Business Story

Why this business was started

I wanted to establish my own business and the idea for swimwear came to me when I could never find any classic swimwear that I liked. The swimwear industry is a billion dollar global industry and is still growing. I saw potential for a brand that focused on the elegant female who opts for the classic look.

The reason of selling this business

I am a lawyer by day and I have not been able to dedicate the time to the business. I also have to concede I have not had the industry contacts, nor the social media and web savviness to really get the business off the ground.

What's involved in running this business

Running online and social media advertising campaigns. Posting to social media. Marketing (reaching out to influencers, magazines etc). Fulfilling orders. Trying to get inventory stocked in physical retail stores.

Other details about profit: I have input the above data purely based on mandatory fields. However, the business has operated at a loss to date purely because of the start-up costs. For example, the website cost $15K and the stock cost about $30-40K plus there were other miscellaneous costs such as shipping fees etc. With all these costs already incurred, any buyer would take sales revenue minus there advertising costs, domain costs, Shopify costs etc.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

I believe this swimwear brand has great potential and could take off under the management of someone with existing experience in the online retail world, someone with great contacts, someone who is savvy with social media and has the know-how in getting a website to rank in searches. Getting the brand stocked in physical retail stores would also assist with brand awareness and sales.

    Skills to have

Experience in marketing and social media. Contacts in the fashion industry Ive found to be an advantage.

Once you submit payment to Escrow.com and the payment has been secured, the funds are held until you confirm that all assets received are as negotiated. You can use the inspection period to ask the seller any extra questions about the business.

When the transaction is finalized, the dedicated migration team at Exchange will begin the process of making you the new owner of the store. Buyers and sellers will be notified via an email from the Exchange team once store transfers have been completed.
