Business Story

Why this business was started

I was looking for a drop ship business I could run from anywhere. I still believe it's a great business model for exactly that. It could even be cheaply run by virtual assistants from anywhere in the world. I did a lot of trend and product research and truly love this niche. It's unlimited!

The reason of selling this business

I have decided to concentrate on my freelance writing career, which is more in line with my personal goals. I still love this business, just don't have the energy to keep both going.

What's involved in running this business

Running this business involves promoting the products, fulfilling orders, keeping the website updated with product suppliers, adding new products, a little customer service and having fun.

This business was founded: over 2 years ago
Time to run this business: approximately 15 hours per week

General description

FYI, I took the price that Shopify valued the business at and cut it in HALF. I'd like to sell quickly. Land of Kawaii was a fantastic money maker while I was paying attention to it. Be sure to look at the entire history to see the enormous potential. Japanese and Korean Cute products (kawaii) are a HUGE niche with truly unlimited products. It makes a great fit for drop shipping since the products are asian designed and made. This could be a SUPER fun store for anyone interested in this niche, or in cute cats and dogs, Japanese design or cute school and office supplies. A little advertising goes a LONG way and I had great success with Instagram and FB ads.

Why should someone buy this store?

The store is ready to go with an endless supply of suppliers and products. The items don't require sizing and are widely loved, super hot trends, must have purchases for those in the know.

How can the future owner improve the business?

The store has sadly been ignored for the past year or so. It needs a once over in terms of adding new product and checking on suppliers. It continued to make minimal sales, even while I did nothing at all....

What work have you put into the store?

I built the store on Shopify, created relationships with suppliers, built email list and social media followings. I did tons of product research to find the best items and tested them all for quality.

Other details about profit: The numbers above do not tell the real story. When I was advertising my profits were up to $3000 with hundreds of orders in one month. See the data from the beginning of the store in 2017. However, when I no longer had time to focus on the store, the numbers went down quite low. It is what you are able to put into it.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

I would update product images, supplier info and add more products and I'm happy to advise on this. I would continue to use the dropified app and I might sell on Amazon as well.
