Large format digital print shop specializing in photography backdrops, floordrops and backgrounds.
Since opening in 2014, our online shop has received over 4800 orders with many orders containing multiple products to combine on shipping costs. As we cater to photographers, they tend to be refreshing their studios often with new backdrops and items in order to keep their business unique from their competition as well as be able to offer their clients new and trending themes and backgrounds to choose from. About 50% of our current sales and traffic are from repeat and past clients.
This is a business that can be run from home (space permitting) and without a retail or brick-and-mortar store front, as items are shipped across Canada and the US and sale's are not dependant on local walk in traffic.

Advertising is limited to boosting certain Facebook / Instagram posts, more so raising awareness of sales and promotions currently being run. Ideally we target our immediate clients, and potential lookalike audiences.
The monthly shopify plan expense includes costs such as ongoing loyalty programs as well, not jstu the base plan.
(ie. Mailchimp, apps)
(ie. Adwords, Facebook ads, etc.)
Inventory kept on hand is kept to a minimum as consumables are ordered on an as needed basis, as our shop runs entirely on a print to order basis which our clients and customers know and understand as it is the industry norm.
Also includes mis-prints and 'demo' backdrops that are lightly used and sold off at reduced prices and rates.
Had to put a warehouse cost of $1 a month, as this system didn't allow for a 0 value, but we do not own or rent a warehouse.
Our online shop and business is established throughout the photography community, and as more and more people pick up Digital SLR camera's and open their own photography company, there will always be a continued demand for physical printed backdrops and backgrounds for photographers to shoot against.
How can the future owner improve the business?
With the continued addition of new and trendy designs as well as ongoing client management, sales will continue to come in without much further input. Our email list of current and active clients are in the 3700 range, our Facebook page is north of 16k followers, which have been organically acquired since our inception. It is easy and straight forward to stay in front of prospective buyers and photographers.
What work have you put into the store?
Our main asset, aside from web domain and social media pages, would be our Roland 64" printer. This is larger than most local digital print companies require for signage and wraps, however since we print on such a large scale, we required the additional width to be able to print our products and cater to the largest possible audience. A printer like this would cost someone around $25k plus taxes simply to acquire.
Our collection of designs count is just over a thousand, which will be transferred to the next owner, means there are more than enough to offer prospective photographers a wide variety of designs to choose from, without even doing anything else.
