LoveDrop is the date night subscription box for couples, featuring sex toys, romantic gifts and intimate activity ideas for you and your partner to explore together. Founded by UK based husband and wife duo, LoveDrop has been incredibly well received by bloggers and customers in the UK. Our aim is to give couples everything they need to have exciting, sexy date nights and introduce them to new adult products and ideas. Our subscription model is currently bi-monthly, where we source a handful of products to include in the box and produce our own pamphlet & date night activity cards. We then collect payments on the 5th of the alternate month and dispatch before the 10th for subscribed customers. Then over the course of that 2 month period, we will ship to new subscribers until we run out of stock. For marketing - we have kept it very organic due to cost, but utilising some fantastic UK bloggers and social influencers has worked well. We've sent a number of complimentary boxes in return for reviews, which can really drive engagement and traffic to the site if you get the right audience. We currently have: - 30+ active subscribers - 2,455 Instagram followers - 286 Twitter followers - 37 Facebook likes - 560+ email marketing subscribers (25.6% opens, 2.8% clicks) - Active blog with 8 articles on sex & relationships This really has been a side project for us, however we realised as we gained traction that we would need to invest a lot more time and/or money into the business to see it grow to it's full potential. Unfortunately as a young couple looking to start a family, this really isn't the ideal timing for us, and so we we've decided it would be better to sell the business on to someone who could give it the attention it deserves!

Why should someone buy this store?

There is no one else in the UK doing what LoveDrop does. Couples in long term relationships do not get the focus and attention that they need, and date nights are so critical to a healthy relationship. Sex toys are also one of the fastest growing consumer products and every day we see new brands coming out with innovative designs to give couples more exciting sex lives. Combining the date night/romance theme with the sex toy product and other intimate gives is a perfect combination for a great product. We've had incredible feedback from customers and some great reviews from a number of bloggers across the UK, there clearly is a need for in the market for LoveDrop.

How can the future owner improve the business?

Begin to increase the variation of product offerings i.e. monthly/bi-monthly/quarterly subscriptions, one-off 'gift' boxes, taster boxes, boxes for more adventurous couples or even themed boxes. The possibilities are endless here. We would also recommend investing into the right marketing strategy, as the private nature of the product limits the 'word of mouth' element (you probably won't social share too much about your sex life) so it's worth looking at how you'll best reach your target customers directly. This has been difficult for us to achieve on zero budget.

What work have you put into the store?

We've built the store from scratch, had professional photography done on a regular basis to keep our product imagery up to date, we've also had an SEO sweep done of the store to make sure it's ranking well on Google (which it does very well) and we've recently opened a 'shop' page to buy one off products from previous boxes. We also run a blog, with 8 articles on sex & relationships for couples. This has been a great way of producing original content to email to our customer base and share on social media.

I'm in my mid twenties & married to Alex. We started LoveDrop as a side project which turned out to be pretty popular, however we both work full time corporate jobs and the timing for us to go full time on this business just isn't right unfortunately. I work in a large corporate as a digital manager, Alex is an accountant specialising in VAT. This has been our first business venture and we've loved the learning experience!
