General description

An independent brand with an authentic style, handcrafted local leather sandals from the island of love.

Started as a small store on Etsy, now one of the original Greek sandal brands, locally made using traditional sandelier techniques from the best quality Greek and Italian leathers.

Wholesale and Retail sales from 6 years available for reviewing. Online social media presence and strong brand awareness, with repeat sales in France, USA and rest of Europe.

Why should someone buy this store?

The brand has grown 100% organically and by word of mouth. 30% of summer sales is repeat customers from France and the USA. The potential of the brand far exceeds my knowledge and finances, which makes it sad to walk away from it but the brand deserves to grow. Information not shown here are wholesale orders to boutiques, these can be provided on request as well as Google Analytics data.

Currently all products are made-to-order and I also have some stock of the new SS2019 collection. Ordering larger inventory would mean better margins, but I am unable so do. I have not paid for any advertising or SEO, which the site needs.

How can the future owner improve the business?

The business has reached the point where it needs to expand and enter into more retail stores to reach more consumers online through marketing. The brand needs a strategic and financial plan which I simply do not have the knowledge to do alone. There is interest from retailers which have approached me (ASOS, Zolando, Selfridges, etc), but I cannot finance large orders on their terms.

What work have you put into the store?

I have built the brand from zero and have a loyal and organically grown following. 30% of sales every summer is repeat customers. Instagram and Facebook following is all organic, with a 5/5 review rating on Etsy. All the designs of products are my own. I am happy to continue to stay on as a creative director or designer should the buyer wish to collaborate further. I also run the blog and newsletter which has many women (aged 24-34) reading and emailing me regarding personal issues. I have 1400 newsletter subscribers.

    How to grow this business

    I would invest in more inventory, grow the mailing list and sell direct to consumers like most premium brands are doing now, instead of wholesale. Margins are better, but only if you have a very engaged following and strong advertising budget to grow. I would work with many more influencers and press to get a viral exposure on a global scale. I would also create an affiliate program.
