Why this business was started
This business was started as an 'alternative to working a full-time 9-5 job'. It was started during my University days. I did not really know what I wanted to do upon graduation. But I sure didn't want to be doing nothing and living off my parents. So, I wanted to create some income for myself.
After a lot of research, hesitation and a leap of faith. I worked on it for 3 months, speaking to suppliers about their products, sourcing for a reliable logistics provider and worked on getting to know Shopify.. The rest is history.
The reason of selling this business
I ended up taking up a full time job, it wasn't as much as a dread as I expected. All I needed was to have a challenge. I am currently in the Logistics / Shipping Industry and doing extremely well with supportive bosses & colleagues. It's something worth dedicating my time & efforts to and I would like to make myself available at work 100%, instead of replying to queries and fulfilling orders.

The store can be run remotely, there is no paid up capital required other than your investment in the purchase of the store.
Social media page is not included in the sale. Only the Domain and the store, as it is with all that is mentioned in this listing is included.

All product images, raw, 1080px are available with the purchase. They have been painstakingly processed to be void of any unnecessary wordings from the suppliers, i'e the Chinese wordings.
The sale of the business encompasses the platform in which you will get access to our logistics providers who can ship worldwide to over 70+ Countries. Supplier and logistics services are China based.
Suppliers -> Ship To China Warehouse owned by logistics company -> Logistics co. receives and check items -> Takes product photos for you to approve -> Select country, input address and see the cost of logistics -> pay & arrangements will be made to send out the items.
You can liaise with logistics services in English, they will assist with any after sales issues as well. In addition to above, logistics providers act as neutral party by providing photos of the items before they are sent out of the warehouse. This enables you to ensure contents are correct, reducing the risk of returns. If the item is photo-ed in good condition, and during transit the items are damaged. You will be compensated by the logistics providers as well for the amount declared during shipping + the shipping fee. Of course, this is not free of charge. The logistics providers charge a nominal 10% off the purchase price of the items from supplier. Taking into account that Products from China are cheap, its really a token fee to ensure your interests are well-protected as you ship world-wide.
You will however, need to start your own social media and gain a stronger presence by being active on social media. At this moment, the business does not come with any social media pages.

How to grow this business
In the next five years, keep track of the no. of orders for particular items using Shopify's analytics and order them ahead of time in advance, keeping a small quantities of them to readily ship out at soonest and also push to your clients.
This works if you are targeting your local geographic market and will significantly increase the margins for you as there is a mode for sea shipping. Sea shipping essentially allows you to order in bulk across several items, store/consolidate in the China warehouse and ship them all out at once. The scalability of this store is possible because of the flexibility of logistics providers.
Skills to have
Social Media & Marketing Facebook page, pixel set up and monthly aesthetically pleasing ads are what is going to score brownie points for you to successfully close the sales. You need to learn how to maintain this. We have template ad images done up and will be glad to let you have them if required (12 months worth). You can recycle them or inter mix the photos to create new ad sets.
Knowledge of the different designs of lighting - i.e pendant fixture, ceiling mounted types and wall lamps outdoor/not. This needs to be researched on your own. Google will be your best friend, with countless articles out there educating you so that when clients enquire, you can display your knowledge. This boosts a lot of their confidence to purchase from you.
Patience You will need a lot of patience, there are going to be many enquiries, but you may not always secure every single one. Move forward and find out what is lacking and improve on it.
Shopify You will need to learn how to use the Shopify platform, which is not all that hard considering the amount of tutorials and articles Shopify has.
