The Mariner West story begins with two best friends who split paths at college, one going to the east coast and one staying on the west coast. We saw how different the lifestyle and culture was on both coasts and saw a business opportunity in creating high-quality comfortable and preppy clothing to cater to the college markets. The company was soon created in our dorm rooms and started with a vision heavily focused on branding and defining what Mariner West is. Mariner West is a preppy, beach lifestyle brand that combines East Coast prep with West Coast vibes. Our mission is to take traditional New England style (prep, sail, row) and add elements of Southern California (surf, skate, beach) in order to create a unique brand with a social purpose. We strive to inspire our generation to give back to others while living the "good life" every day. That's why Mariner West is much more than just another clothing brand, it is a lifestyle that represents living life to the fullest and having no shortage of good days.

We fell short on sustaining our business and lack the resources needed to continue running the operation. The company lacks funding and does not have the right connections to scale. Our marketing experience is limited and not sufficient to sustain the business.

For the past year, Mariner West was run by several college students, a number of which have now graduated and moved forward in their careers. There is only one owner who manages the business now and is able to fulfill a couple orders here and there.

If I were not selling, I would take a small business loan, acquire an experienced marketing team, and focus heavily on facebook ads to scale the e-commerce business.
