Why this business was started

I started max + moose 6 years ago after having my oldest. Muslin swaddle blankets were the only option back then and although they have some benefits- didnt work for everything I needed it to be. They would get snagged so easily, wouldnt stay tied around my neck when I was nursing, and looked trashed after only a few months of using them.

When I started making swaddle blankets- I wanted to make a quality swaddle that could be used for everything a new mom needs. I wanted it to be the swaddle she grabbed when she needed a nursing cover, to clean up spit up- or even a blowout, swaddlin... I started with bamboo jersey- which had stretch to it. Back then- that didnt exist. I knew I was on to something when I would get so many messages saying how the stretch was such a game changer. I liked the bamboo but knew there was a better option still, one day I was doing laundry and came across my favorite tshirt- which was made from Pima Cotton.

Our swaddles have evolved over the years and we have nailed down the perfect swaddle. Our swaddles are made with 100% pima cotton jersey. It is a high quality cotton that is naturally smooth and soft [perfect for newborns sensitive skin], it's easy to wash, and still looks like new after years of washing [no joke!]

The reason of selling this business

A year and a half ago, our 3 year old got diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum. Since then, I have been working with doctors and therapists to try and get her development where it needs to be. This alone has turned into a full time job. Which I am more than happy to do!

As much as I have wanted to keep up with max + moose the last year and a half, I just havent been able to. It has been a challenge to keep up on instagram posts- let alone creating and executing on marketing plans.
