General description

Mini Sands Boutique curates collections of cute and modern luxury children’s clothing, toys, and decor. Country-chic and urban coolness meet comfort. By sourcing our collections from designers around the world, we are able to provide the highest quality and unique products at fair prices. The site utilizes Oberlo for inventory and import features and is a dropship entity. The branding across social media and the website provide for high traffic volumes, in the top 6% of site traffic for sites launched during our launch period(per Shopify stats). We have not utilized paid media to date. Founded in 2017 by loving parents, who after eight years of infertility and loss were blessed with a family. Children are our true happiness.

Where did the name come from? Each year we take our children to the beach and watch them leave footprints in the sand. Time goes fast when they are young. "Mini" for their size, and "Sands," to represent the "sands of time," an everyday reminder to hold and cherish our children.

Financials and traffic

During August we generated gross sales of $3,334.50. In order to ensure a proven concept, dynamic brand that has traffic, and repositioned the retail mix. Prior to the last week of July the site was dormant and was not being supported via any social channels or activities; we went from nothing to $3k doing just Instagram activities. We anticipate once social channels are fully engaged and minimal marketing dollars are applied during peak shopping windows the average daily rate to exceed $300-$400 gross sales within a 60 day period, and $500-$600 gross sales within a 90 day period. We projected annualize sales to be $180,000 annually. We're using the estimated $500 per day gross sales annualized. This is an average per day gross sale estimate.

Q & A

Why should someone buy this store?

This is a proven startup that has generated traffic and sales without any marketing dollars and purely social media word-of-mouth. The products have been sorted, descriptions cleaned up, and evaluated to ensure the best retail mix by an established owner who currently owns a retail physical location. The navigation and products have been ordered and sorted according to the proper age and gender specifications(gender based navigation launches the first week of Sept). The site comes with all graphical/brand assets; including illustrator logo files, URLs(minisandsboutique.com, minisands.net, minisands.co, minisandsboutique.co, minisandsboutique.net & minisands.com, which is a super short and valuable URL), and the social media accounts. Also we had 7,935 visitors to the site(the first three weeks of August) with the average order value of $56.43. The majority of sales came from the United States, with a distant four way tie for Canada, Mexico, Australia and the UK. Traffic matches the sales geo-locations. We also have an extremely valuable Facebook Pixel for the account which measured some promoted post on Instagram during off and on peak shopping times/days to measure customer behavior in relation to specific types of photos and products. This A/B testing and measurement can be found on the tracking pixel which has been liquid code injected into the Shopify store. The pixel has not been utilized for retargeting to date, this is an opportunity day one for the 7000+ visitors. We utilize Mailchimp for a series of abandoned cart emails (the first sent within an hour, the next the following day, and the last three days later). We convert a higher than average number of abandoned carts. The automation between Shopify, Oberlo, and using the Chrome plugins allows for easy ordering. It takes minutes to complete orders, allowing an individual to focus on marketing. We're selling the site to concentrate a new physical retail location in our hometown, plus we have three kids.

How can the future owner improve the business?

A future owner can generate over $500 net sales per day by purely improving the existing Instagram and Facebook platforms as well as introduce Pinterest. Additional apps have been added to the store to increase the sales funnel as well as abandon cart triggers for sales discounts.

What work have you put into the store?

We've rebuilt the entire navigation structure, brand identity, brand story, as well as the inventory and retail mix. The largest challenge has been dumping poor performing dropshippers in favor of dropshippers from Aliexpress who have a proven record. This has been accomplished over the last month as we've sorted, dropped, and added new products. While doing this we've updated all descriptors and positions this site to appeal to Females 26 - 37 who typically shop higher end boutiques. Please note we spent close to 35 hours for two weeks updating the store and ensuring it has the proper look. On an average week it takes around 4 hours to do social media post and fullfill orders. Thus, we placed the weekly hours at 16. Please note the brand story is a very personal family journey and this position/story in the about section will be removed as well as the photo of our family. Those items are not for sale, ha.
