Mini Twinnie started as a side project as I was setting up a bricks and mortar shop in France. Aimed at the USA parents market, Mini Twinnie brings together collections of matching Parent and child clothing and accessories, jumping onto the rapidly growing social media and selfie trend of 'Mommy & Me', 'Daddy & Me' and 'Family Matching' clothing. As a huge fan of instagram and pinterest myself, I just adore seeing Moms and Dads and celebrity families in perfectly twinned coordinated outfits with their children and babies. But searching separate stores for matching items in adult and children sizes can be a tiring for customers. Luckily Aliexpress has clocked on to this and there are hundreds of suppliers who now cater exactly to this. Mixed with a little searching around to piece adult and child collections together, Mini Twinnie has found a great brand identity in a fun and growing niche.

Current styles cover a huge range. From emulating pop rock hero's in jeans and slogan t-shirts, cool summer boho-chic dresses and shirts, funky patterned babygrow sets, and classic, timeless, vintage style accessories. From everyday rough and tumble wear, to outfits they might just outshine the host of the party in.

How can the future owner improve the business?

Marketing, marketing, marketing (for which I have done hardly anything!) This store would be best suited to someone living in the USA as I ran it from France but to a USA market (you will know the market better than me!) The store is less than a year old so theres a huge scope for improvement with the marketing. The store pretty would run as it is allowing you to concentrate a lot of time into marketing strategies (the part I've put very little time into- as a designer I enjoy the design aspect more and building collections). There's been a completely organic build of a following on Instagram, this could easily be improved by following up requests for collaborations with influencers. The Facebook page is currently very basic. You've basically got a fully working website with a great selection of products that are easy to expand on, all set up for your marking plan.

What work have you put into the store?

The website is complete and running. There are currently 80 products with full written listings and photographs including verified size charts. Some of these include some custom design slogan t-shirts and hoodies for individuality linked with T-shirt design apps for ease of ordering. There are 133 more selected items waiting to be added ( without the listings written yet) in Oberlo. There are multiple catalogues set up with a tagging system including things like collections, as well as clearance catagorizing. The scrolling header images have been manipulated for a great landing page. Refunds, privacy and terms of service policies are in place. Shipping is in place for single, multiple and even free plus shipping options (using a weight configuration) internationally. There is a facebook page and an instagram page.
