Why this business was started

After struggling to buy suitable apparel for my Chihuahua, I did my research and started Minipet! I identified a niche opportunity to supply Australian pet lovers with smaller pets top quality, Australian designed pet accessories and treats. Since starting the business it I have expanded the sizing range as many owners with larger pets wanted to buy the products. It has been a very enjoyable business to run.

The reason of selling this business

To become profitable, the Minipet business requires scaling. This is certainly possible however I have other business interests and do not have the time. For a person with the energy and time, this business could be highly successful. It would be very suitable for a person who was interested in growing an ecommerce business. I would love to continue but unfortunately it is not feasible

To run this business you require the ability to maintain a Shopify store.     To grow this business further I would develop offline opportunities with dog clubs, retirement homes and rescue services offering discounted arrangements, also attend regular events such as the Dog Lovers Show (Minipet attended in 2019). Also investment into marketing and building relationships with micro-influencers. Creation of rewards program and expansion of product range.
