Business Story

Why this business was started

Being a business student, I decided I would like to test and apply the knowledge I have learned in my time at university, along with getting the practical experience involved in running a business. As it stands, I have learned a plethora of useful information and made this business profitable in only 2 months of operation.

The reason of selling this business

I am selling the business as I am starting a work term at university for the winter months and will unfortunately be too busy to operate the business. If I had the time or means to scale this store properly, I am certain it would allow me to earn a small fortune, but I currently do not have the time or capital needed to do so.

What's involved in running this business

The daily tasks involved are fairly simple as the store is automated for the most part. Winning products are provided with the store therefore the only tasks involve daily management/optimization of Facebook ads, and order fulfilment which can be done with a click of a button. Any form of optional testing can be done as well if the future owner decides to do so.

Other details about profit: Total revenue generated as shown in screenshots stands at 69k USD for September - May. The information provided from Shopify is overall not an accurate representation, as we only started operating fully in November/December. Total sales for December stand at US$17000, with a profit of US$2000 after product cost and ad expenses. (Mind the screenshot provided for advertisement costs is in Canadian dollars.) Due to Shopify requiring that I include 4 months of near inactivity, our revenue stands at 5.7k per month, but considering the 4 months of inactivity and an average monthly profit margin of US$2000 a month the profit margin stands at 50%. If the information was accurately represented by Shopify, our profit margin would instead stand at 12% of US$17000 which is around $2000 USD.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

Future owners could grow this store massively if a higher cash flow is provided, being a student I do not have the means to scale this business properly. This store is on fire and anyone with the means to scale it can earn a small fortune doing so.

    Skills to have

The store is turn-key the only skills/knowledge needed would be a creative drive and the means to scale/operate.

My name is Lucas, I am a Canadian student studying business, I would like to sell my current Shopify store, along with its Facebook Pixel which has accumulated about $80k in sales. Although the business has been pretty successful, I am starting a work term and cash flow is pretty low as I am a student, but I believe there is much potential for growth if someone has the means and time to do so.

    Secure messaging platform

You will be able to communicate with sellers via a secure messaging platform. After you log in and request information from a listing, sellers are notified and have the ability to respond. When you are ready, you can make an offer.
