Business Story

Why this business was started

Shopify Valuation: $21,300!

Mother of Clothes was founded after a hole in the market for affordable maternity clothing and accessories was discovered. The store offers quality maternity products at fair prices. The niche is an evergreen space and demand is always high. The store also benefits from a very "target-able" audience making it more inexpensive to acquire traffic.

The reason of selling this business

I purchased the store from the founder about 2 months ago. I intended to continue to grow where he left off but I simply do not have the time to do so (I currently work full time and have own a brick-and-mortar business). My loss is your gain. The new owner should either be experienced with Facebook Ads or willing to learn.

What's involved in running this business

Advertising - The business is reliant on social media marketing to drive traffic and create sales. The number one day to day task is creating and monitoring Facebook ads.

Order fulfillment - Once sales are acquired, the orders need to be fulfilled in Oberlo.

Customer Support - Answering emails, Facebook messages, etc.

I have VA's in place for both order fulfillment and customer service. Both would be willing to stay on to support he new owner.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

The new owner should start where I left off. Reinstate/create Facebook ads, continue to find new winning products, and scale up. The store is ready to sell again, it just needs someone with enough time and experience to acquire new customers.

    Skills to have

The new owner should be proficient or willing to learn Facebook Ads as this is the primary source of traffic. Familiarity with Oberlo and AliExpress would be a plus, but, I have a VA in place to take care of order fulfillment if you wish to keep him on.

I like to call myself a "serial entrepreneur". I've owned businesses since I was 15; everything from selling kettle corn at festivals, to restaurants, to e-commerce. In addition to Mother of Clothes, my wife and I currently run a restaurant in Wisconsin, the state where we reside.

The revenue and traffic data that you see on each listing is pulled directly from its Shopify account. This means that the data has been verified. Exchange reviews and monitors listings for thorough and accurate information.

    Secure messaging platform

You will be able to communicate with sellers via a secure messaging platform. After you log in and request information from a listing, sellers are notified and have the ability to respond. When you are ready, you can make an offer.

Exchange and Escrow.com have partnered together to provide you with safe transactions that have bank encryption, making sure that payment is securely captured. Escrow.com ensures that its users pass verification checks before transactions can proceed.

Take time to inspect the business

Once you submit payment to Escrow.com and the payment has been secured, the funds are held until you confirm that all assets received are as negotiated. You can use the inspection period to ask the seller any extra questions about the business.

    Safe store transfer

When the transaction is finalized, the dedicated migration team at Exchange will begin the process of making you the new owner of the store. Buyers and sellers will be notified via an email from the Exchange team once store transfers have been completed.
