My Present Online provides a virtual retail store. The business started in 2017 as a way to provide fun gifts, presents, and items to make life easier. We specialize in gifts that customers use to treat themselves or people and animals they love. With over 200 products, it is easy for customers to find the perfect gift for the right occasion. Browsing the store is easy with collections for fun in the summer, the outdoors, a significant other, kids, pets, kitchens, and household items.

Traffic is driven to the store through ads on Facebook, Instagram, and Google. It was in the top percentile for traffic compared to stores that were opened at the same time. The average order is just over $18. The most popular product category for purchases are pet products with the Lions Mane for dogs being the number one selling product.
Advertising campaigns are mostly geared to Facebook. Using Facebook tools for targeting, we are able to tailor to an audience most likely to purchase a specific product.

This is a drop shipping company. Suppliers are vetted through Oberlo and AliExpress, and have been responsive. The store was most successful with an app called Hurrify, which created countdowns and product scarcity. We also employed an abandoned cart ad which captured additional business.

What work have you put into the store?

Many things were put into place to create a successful store. First we carefully reviewed the rules and regulations of online retail. Then designed the logo, and compared names and likeness on the trademark registry. The next step was adding products to the store. Product ideas came from all over. After adding good pictures and descriptions to products, we set pricing. As a hook we use “Free plus shipping” offers and discounts. Social media was setup for the business and we experiment with marketing campaigns. We look for and add aps like SalesPop, and Hurrify to make the store more successful. We use events like the solar eclipse to sell shirts and mugs, and back to school to sell backpacks and lunchboxes. We also study trends to find the next viral product, and create good ad copy.
